Grace Unlimited

Scriptures: Proverbs 3:34 NKJV

Surely He scorns the scornful,
But gives grace to the humble. (Proverbs 3:34 NKJV)
My plea is that we not limit grace to Christ. We, too, can learn to be just as gracious as He. And since we can, we must, not only in our words and in great acts of compassion and understanding but in small ways as well. Let me describe four practical expectations you can anticipate as you get a firm grasp on grace.

First, you can expect to gain a greater appreciation for God's gifts to you and others. What gifts? Several come to mind. The free gift of salvation. The gift of life. The gift of laughter, of music, of beauty, of friendship, of forgiveness. Those who claim the freedom God offers gain an appreciation for the gifts that come with life.

Second, you can expect to spend less time and energy critical of and concerned about others' choices. Wouldn't that be a refreshing relief? When you get a grasp on grace—when you begin to operate in a context of freedom—you become increasingly less petty. You will allow others room to make their own decisions in life, even though you may choose otherwise.

Third, you can expect to become more tolerant and less judgmental. Externals will not mean as much to you. You'll begin to cultivate a desire for authentic faith rather than endure a religion based on superficial performance. You will find yourself so involved in your own pursuit of grace, you'll no longer lay guilt trips on those with whom you disagree.

Fourth, you can expect to take a giant step toward maturity. As your world expands, thanks to an awakening of your understanding of grace, your maturity will enlarge. Before your very eyes, new vistas will open. It will be so transforming, you will never be the same.

Sometimes I wonder why I didn't get around to fixing this kinda stuff much earlier on, but I believe in "better late, than never," and my hope is always to keep making little improvements, so my unique writings are the most accessible they can be.

Enlarge thy Tent is the promise to the now #delivered #Judah to expand, make room. The description is "Enlarge the place of thy tent" and "stretch for the curtains of thine habitations", "spare not, lengthen thy cords, strengthen thy stakes." For the once captive Judah has received #promises and to receive those, they must be prepared to make more room. It is a #command, it is a #blessing, it is fulfillment to once humiliated nation that #Godsblessing will be a #massiveoverflow. This overflow will be both to the right and to the left and it will #inherit the #Gentiles. The time of confusion and judgment is over. They will not be confounded nor ashamed. The nation is commanded as "Thy Maker is thine husband." No longer a widow, the nation is in the blessing of the #LORDofhosts.

Race With Grace

Jaime Chien of New York City began running for exercise in 2013 after watching a friend in a marathon. Now she’s a force to be reckoned with in the world of running. “What keeps me going is being able to motivate other people,” she told Runner’s World. “There are times I don’t feel like running…. But I lead a Monday night running group, so people are relying on me.”[1]

The Bible compares our Christian life to a running course. We’re to “run in such a way” that we’ll obtain the prize (1 Corinthians 9:24), to “run with endurance” (Hebrews 12:1), to run without stumbling (Proverbs 4:12), to “run and not be weary” (Isaiah 40:31), and to finish our course (2 Timothy 4:7).

One thing that keeps us going is the ability to motivate and encourage the other Christian runners around us; God uses the act of encouraging others to bring us encouragement too. Next time you are discouraged, reach out and encourage a fellow believer in Christ; you will both end up being encouraged!

Discouraged people don’t need critics. They hurt enough already…. They need encouragement.
