Reports Of Iranian Missile Strike On U.S. Consulate
UPDATE: The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has claimed the missile attack last night on Erbil, saying it targeted, "a strategic centre of the Zionist regime's conspiracies and wickedness."
The guard has vowed to deliver a "harsher more decisive and destructive response" if Israel "repeats its evil deeds," indicating that the attack was in response to the killing of its troops earlier this week in a suspected Israeli strike in Syria.

Footage posted on social media reportedly shows an air strike in Erbil, Iraq near a U.S. military base and consulate.
Lawk Ghafari, the head of Kurdistan’s foreign media office, said none of the missiles hit the US facility but that areas around the compound had been hit.
The attack follows the suspension of critical negotiations between Iran and world powers to restore the 2015 nuclear deal amid escalating tensions between the Kremlin and the White House over Moscow’s war on Ukraine.
Iranian news also reported Sunday that Tehran had “unilaterally and temporarily” suspended talks with Saudi Arabia aimed at restoring diplomatic ties between the two rival regional powers.
