Retail stores are fleeing San Francisco in droves as the California city collapses under the weight of rampant crime and theft. And rather than deal with the crime problem, city leaders instead want to punish the stores trying to leave. The so-called “Grocery Protection Act,” introduced by city Board of Supervisors member Dean Preston (Democratic […]

Stolen goods are flooding online marketplaces thanks to retail theft rings

https://newstarget.com/2024-04-01-nyc-shoplifting-fuels-black-market-stolen-goods.html

Shoplifting is surging in New York, and it’s creating a strong resale economy with stolen items being sold in online marketplaces such as Facebook Marketplace and eBay. Many people believe the Supreme Court “ended asset forfeiture” with its 2019 opinion in Timbs v. Indiana. That’s not only false, but by trying to expand federal power to stop asset forfeiture in the states, they might have made things even worse in the long run.

Path to Liberty: February 14, 2024

On this episode of The Cost of Everything we take a closer look at the economic toll companies are taking when it comes to theft. This is a phenomenon that is making big merchant retailers close their doors because of the massive amounts of retail theft in cities like San Francisco and New York. But, what about in other parts of the world? Is retail robbery affecting companies in Africa? Host Christy Ai spoke to Retail Boss Jeanel Alvarado about the devastating consequences of retail theft that goes unpunished. Later in the show, Clinton Nzala from Kenya explains how theft is not as common in his country, and the measures retail businesses take to avoid it.

Although we generally refer to that list of abuses in the Declaration of Independence as “grievances” - that’s not how they were described in the text. Instead, they were referred to as “usurpations,” or a theft of power from the people. Sounds familiar, doesn’t it?

Usurpation is theft. Of Power.

Acts outside the constitution are an exercise of power - without a right.

Inflation is not hard to understand. There is no secret formula and there are no deeper mysteries. The amount of currency divided by the amount of economic activity gives you the value of the currency. Sure, you can find small complications in what builds those two numbers, but the math is inescapable.
