What kind of war is the U.S. supporting between Israel and Hamas?

A trove of concrete evidence now exists suggesting that Israel allowed Oct. 7 to happen by:

1.) ignoring dozens of credible, specific warnings of an attack;

2.) threatening Israeli soldiers with legal action for trying to warn their superiors;

3.) and pulling troops away from the Israel-Gaza border.

So what was October 7th, actually?
