Jack Smith still investigating Trump election fraud allegations a month after announcing charges

Jack Smith, Special Counsel, is continuing to investigate the alleged attempts of former President Donald Trump to overturn the 2020 Presidential Election.

This investigation includes questioning witnesses related to this matter, with particular focus on ex-Trump lawyer Sidney Powell.
According to invoices obtained by CNN, Powell’s non-profit, Defending the Republic, hired forensics firms that ultimately accessed voting equipment in four swing states won by Biden: Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Arizona,” CNN reported.

“Powell faces criminal charges in Georgia after she was indicted last month by Atlanta-area district attorney Fani Willis, who alleges that Powell helped coordinate and fund a multi-state plot to illegally access voting systems after the 2020 election,” it continued.

“Presumably, Smith’s team could be in the process of establishing a factual record showing the lack of evidence for the election claims that were nonetheless used to rake in donations that went in significant part towards allegedly or potentially criminal acts,” Bipartisan Report noted.
“Though Smith has already charged Trump in the probe related to the election efforts, the federal team could file more charges,” it added.
