RFK Jr. Calls Vaccine Manufacturers "Serial Felons"
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. appeared on Mike Tyson's podcast and told listeners, vaccine manufactures like Pfzier, Merck and Sanofi are all convicted felons. He further stated, "Not only that, but they are serial felons."
Kennedy referenced the Merck drug Vioxx. Merck was accused of falsifying the results of clinical trials in favor of the arthritis drug to hide evidence that the drug significantly increased patients’ risk of heart attack. Additionally, Merck was accused of ghostwriting several scientific articles. Merck’s manipulation of data and the FDA’s approval of Vioxx led to thousands of avoidable deaths and 100,000 heart attacks.
Ultimately, Merck withdrew the product in 2004 and was ordered to pay a $321 million criminal fine for improper marketing. The firm also agreed to a civil settlement under which it paid $628 million to resolve allegations of off-label marketing and false statements about the cardiovascular safety of Vioxx
