Every page turned in a child’s book is an opportunity to nurture a young mind with lasting values. By choosing stories that show good moral foundations such as kindness, courage, and integrity, we help shape the hearts and souls of the next generation.

A practical thing that you can do to raise the next generation of leaders is to make the right choice in children's books. With this, I'd like to invite you to check out Brave Books. They are pro-God and pro-America; and have been featured in leading news outlets such as FOX.

In the beautiful journey of parenting, one of the most vibrant threads we weave is the lesson of civic responsibility. As we guide our little ones through the myriad paths of life, instilling in them the value of civic engagement becomes not just a lesson but a legacy.

Civic engagement is more than understanding the mechanics of government or the significance of voting. It's about nurturing empathy, fostering a spirit of community, and igniting a passion to contribute positively to our world. It's about teaching our children that their voices matter, their actions have impact, and their contributions are vital to the tapestry of society.

Here's how we, as families, can champion the cause of civic engagement:

Lead by Example: Children learn from what they see. By actively participating in community service, attending town meetings, or simply voting, we show them civic engagement in action.

Educate & Empower: Knowledge is the foundation of empowerment. Encourage discussions about current events, teach them about the roles of government, and explore the history of social movements.

Encourage Questions: Foster a home environment where questions are welcomed. Whether it's about laws, societal norms, or political campaigns, their curiosity is the first step toward engagement.

Small Acts, Big Impact: Show them that civic engagement doesn't always have to be grand. Simple acts, like recycling, supporting local businesses, or helping a neighbor, are profound lessons in making a difference.

Celebrate Involvement: Recognize and celebrate their efforts, no matter how small. This reinforces the value of their contribution and encourages them to keep engaging.

As parents and guardians, our role isn't just to prepare our children for the world as it is but to inspire them to contribute to the world as it could be. Every lesson in empathy, every discussion about justice, and every act of kindness plants the seed for a more engaged, responsible, and compassionate citizen.

Let's embrace this journey together, raising not just children, but changemakers who believe in the power of their contributions and the importance of their civic duties. The future is bright, and together, we can illuminate the path for the next generation of leaders, thinkers, and doers.

New Clothes - Journaling by Linda Garmon

Read Colossians 3:1-16 - So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience; bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you. Beyond all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful. Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God (Col. 3:12-16).

Linda - Lord, I wait quietly for you and I am filled with a calming peace. I long for your tangible presence, however, I know you are here with me, beside me, and inside me whether I feel you or not. Thank you for your Word. What do you want to say to me about these verses?

Vision - I see myself, and I am wearing a costume... A Jesus costume. The face is my face, but I have Jesus features... hair, beard, and clothes. It makes me laugh.

Jesus - Beloved one, your real life is hidden inside Me, for I am Life. Outside of Me, there is only sorrow and death. If a negative attitude tries to take root in you, you will feel my disapproval inside you. This is not condemnation, beloved one, this is conviction. Conviction is the correction of a loving Father to His beloved child. So, throw away anger, and any ill will you have, for these are things that attack the mind like an itchy garment. If you delay you may find wrong words escaping your mouth. It’s natural to feel anger at times, but it takes the supernatural to feel anger and throw it away. I will help you. Ask Me for help.

Jesus - Sink into your new nature for it was made for you and it’s a perfect fit. Clothe yourself in glory character. Snuggle up inside of tenderhearted mercy, kindness, gentleness, and patience. Learn true humility as you lean on my strength for everything. Allow me to flow through you, loving through you, healing through you, and delivering through you. Through all of this, you are renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become just like Him to a lost and dying world.
Linda - This is my heart’s desire, Lord.
Jesus - Mine too, beloved!
