Two former Biden family business associates testified Wednesday before a House committee conducting an impeachment inquiry into influence peddling by the president and close relatives.

Tony Bobulinski, who was a business partner to Hunter Biden, accused his one-time ally of lying under oath to congressional investigators about his father’s involvement.

“Joe Biden was more than a participant and a beneficiary of his family’s business,” Bobulinski testified to the House Oversight and Accountability Committee. “He was an active, aware enabler who met with business associates such as myself to further the business despite being buffered by a complex scheme to maintain plausible deniability.”

The Navy veteran added: “I ask this big question: If there’s no evidence of corruption here today, if Joe’s conduct and the conduct of his family are fully legal and proper, then why are they so dishonest about it?”

Another witness, former Biden business partner Jason Galanis, testifying remotely from federal prison, described Joe Biden’s role in helping secure family business in China and Russia.

Democrats on the committee called convicted felon Lev Parnas to testify, and he blamed Russia.

The impeachment inquiry into the president’s role in family business dealings is being conducted jointly by three House committees: Oversight and Accountability; Ways and Means; and Judiciary.

Wednesday’s public hearing was significant since it was among the first to include fact witnesses who were involved in Biden family business ventures. The chairmen of both the Ways and Means and the Judiciary committees participated in the hearing convened by Oversight and Accountability.

The hearing follows months of closed-door depositions of Hunter Biden and former Biden family business associates, which later were released in transcripts.

It’s hard to trust people today, isn’t it? How many people are frustrated because of a spouse who was unfaithful, a friend who disappointed them, a salesman who was dishonest, or a doctor who misdiagnosed an illness? Rebuilding a friendship is difficult after a perceived betrayal has occurred.

We can’t always do a lot about others who are untrustworthy, but we can do something about ourselves—or rather, we can let the Lord do something within us. He is utterly trustworthy. Psalm 119:86 says, “All your commands are trustworthy” (NIV). Psalm 145:13 says, “The Lord is trustworthy in all he promises and faithful in all he does” (NIV).

As Christians, we’re to grow in His faithful love and kindness (Ephesians 4:25-32). One way to do this is by fostering trust in our relationships. Brotherly kindness begins with a trustworthy spirit—the willingness to be honest and kind. If you’ve been betrayed, seek to forgive. And in all your dealings, be someone who can be trusted with the cares, secrets, and confidences of others.

Ask God to help you grow in your ability to be trusting and trusted.

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich has concluded that fired House member Liz Cheney, whose Wyoming voters threw her out of office after she orchestrated multiple attacks on President Trump, was “dishonest, manipulative, and destructive.”
He lays out in a commentary at Real Clear Wire the reasoning behind his conclusion.
It all links to a lawsuit filed by Stefan Passantino over his being fired by Cassidy Hutchinson, one of the witnesses before ex-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s partisan January 6 commission, which worked to assign blame for that day’s rioting at the Capitol to President Donald Trump.
“I know both participants well. I entered Congress in 1978 with Liz Cheney’s father, Dick Cheney. I watched Liz Cheney become a competent, effective implementor of American policy around the world. Few things have made me sadder than watching her drift into an anti-Trump fanaticism – which ultimately convinced her that breaking the rules, destroying innocent people, and pandering fake news were justified behaviors,” Gingrich noted.
“Years later, I got to know Stefan Passantino. Since 1998, he has been legal counsel for me and for our companies. He is a thoughtful, scholarly, and deeply ethical attorney. Passantino represents his clients with integrity and a passionate commitment to protecting them and seeing justice done.”
