There are on average three train derailments in the United States every single day. That’s more than 1,000 derailments every year. Some are disasters. Trains derail while carrying dangerous chemicals or petroleum products, catch fire, contaminate land and ground water, lead to the death of farm animals, and sometimes even railroad employees and the public. On this episode of the Whistleblowers, John Kiriakou speaks with Union Pacific Railroad locomotive conductor and engineer, Michael Paul Lindsey, about why the United States is so far behind in the locomotive industry and his own whistleblowing experience.

Joining me today is Dr. Bruce Baird, former engineer, college professor, and high school history teacher; present-day researcher, writer, and activist, here on the anniversary of September 11th, 2001, to discuss how this event was used and is still being used to control the population. We also discuss events before and after this major inflection point in history and how they may play into a much larger agenda that has been underway for decades.

On June 8, 1967 an overt act of war was committed against the United States. The combined air and sea attack against the naval ship USS Liberty killed 34 sailors, wounded another 171, and severely damaged the ship. At the time, the ship was in international waters north of Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula. But the aggressor was not Egypt. It was not the Soviet Union or any other country with difficult relations with the United States. It was Israel. On this episode of the Whistleblowers, John Kiriakou speaks with a USS Liberty survivor, US Navy petty officer Phil Tourney.

Reps. Jamaal Bowman (D-N.Y.) and Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) had an intense exchange in the hallways of the Capitol building Wednesday evening, two days after the deadly shooting in Nashville, Tennessee.

The confrontation began when Bowman, a former teacher and middle school principal, went on a heated diatribe. “They’re cowards! They’re all cowards! They won’t do anything to save the lives of our children at all!” Bowman shouted, referring to GOP lawmakers.

Massie later told Bowman, “You know, there’s never been a school shooting in a school that allows teachers to carry.”

“Carry guns? You think — more guns lead to more death! More guns lead to more death,” Bowman responded. “You’re not looking at any data! You’re carrying the water for the gun lobby! Look at the data! More guns lead to more deaths! States that have open carry laws have more deaths! States that have open carry laws have more deaths!”
