A formal ethics complaint was lodged against Department of Justice special counsel Jack Smith on Tuesday, alleging that he is engaging in blatant election interference through his prosecution of former President Donald Trump.
The complaint was filed by Elise Stefanik, a Republican Congresswoman from New York and the chair of the House GOP conference. Stefanik accused Smith of serious ethics violations and called for disciplinary action to be taken against him.

In her official complaint to the DOJ’s Office of Professional Responsibility, Stefanik claimed that Smith has engaged in egregious misconduct by pursuing criminal charges against Trump. Smith is currently overseeing two federal cases against the former president, claiming that he committed election interference while challenging the results of the 2020 presidential election and mishandled classified documents.
Stefanik argued that these cases are a clear attempt by Smith to interfere with the 2024 election and prevent Trump from potentially running for president again. She stated that it is obvious to any reasonable observer that Smith is motivated by personal bias and is breaching DOJ policies in his pursuit of Trump.

The congresswoman highlighted that Smith’s repeated attempts to expedite the federal case against Trump fly in the face of long-standing Justice Department policy. She also accused him of violating a stay of proceedings ordered by the United States District Court for the District of Columbia. Stefanik argued that this behavior is a clear breach of trial ethics and a violation of lawyerly conduct.
Stefanik also referenced several legal motions filed by Smith in the wake of the US Supreme Court’s decision to review Trump’s claims of presidential immunity for some of the charges he faces. She stated that pursuing legal action during a stay of proceedings is a blatant example of misconduct and should be investigated by the Office of Professional Responsibility.

Stefanik concluded her complaint by emphasizing that Smith’s actions have brought disrepute to the DOJ and the federal government as a whole. She urged the office to open an investigation and hold Smith accountable for his actions.
The complaint cites multiple violations of DOJ policies and a breach of trial ethics, as well as personal bias on the part of Smith. The congresswoman responsible for filing the complaint has called for disciplinary action to be taken against Smith and has requested an immediate investigation by the Office of Professional Responsibility. It remains to be seen what actions will be taken in response to this complaint and if it will have any impact on the ongoing legal cases against former President Trump.

Biden Says Trump Should Have Gotten Himself Injected With Bleach

President Joe Biden said on Friday that he wished former President Donald Trump had injected himself with bleach when he supposedly claimed that bleach could help treat COVID-19.
Biden made the remarks at a fundraiser in San Francisco, California, when he brought up a false claim that Trump had said that injecting bleach could help treat the coronavirus. It was then he said he wished his top political rival had injected himself “a little bit.”

In Biden’s words, Remember him saying the best thing to do is just inject a little bleach in your arm? That’s what he said. And he meant it. I wish he had done a little bit himself.”
Biden’s claim that Trump suggested that people get injected with disinfectant as a treatment for COVID-19 has been spread since 2020 by the left-wing media and Democrats, including former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and former White House press secretary Jen Psaki who tried to use the claim to cover up the fact that more Americans died from coronavirus under Biden as of 2021.
However, Trump never suggested that anyone should inject bleach into their arm. Instead, he was making a reference to experimental UV technology and how it could possibly be used in the human body.
As seen in the White House transcript at the time, then-President Trump said, “So I asked Bill a question that probably some of you are thinking of, if you’re totally into that world, which I find to be very interesting. So, supposing we hit the body with a tremendous – whether its ultraviolet or just very powerful light – and I think you said that that hsn’t been checked, but you’re going to test it. And then I said, supposing you brought the light inside the body, which you can do either through the skin or in some other way, and I think you said you’re going to test that too. It sounds interesting.”

Republican Senator Tom Cotton of Arkansas accused President Joe Biden of aligning with Hamas in the ongoing war in Gaza, in which Hamas initiated violence by targeting innocent Israeli civilians. Cotton stated that Biden’s position effectively supports a victory for Hamas, as Israel’s goal is to dismantle the terrorist group and Hamas’s goal is to simply survive.

Cotton criticized the Biden administration for their “weaselly, mealy-mouthed” stance on Hamas, and for attempting to appease both the pro-Hamas wing of their party and the majority of Americans who support Israel. He also called out Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s comments that attempt to equate the actions of both sides, arguing that this is just a ploy to maintain political popularity.
The Senator also highlighted the fact that Israel is doing everything in its power to minimize civilian casualties, but that Hamas’s tactic of using innocent civilians as shields is to blame for any harm to non-combatants. He also brought up the fact that if Hamas simply released the Israeli hostages, the suffering of innocent civilians in Gaza would end.
Cotton accused Biden of imposing an effective arms embargo on Israel and implementing sanctions against Israelis by withholding critical offensive weapons. He claimed that under former President Trump, this would have never happened and that if Trump were still in office, the war would likely be over with fewer civilian casualties.
