A formal ethics complaint was lodged against Department of Justice special counsel Jack Smith on Tuesday, alleging that he is engaging in blatant election interference through his prosecution of former President Donald Trump.
The complaint was filed by Elise Stefanik, a Republican Congresswoman from New York and the chair of the House GOP conference. Stefanik accused Smith of serious ethics violations and called for disciplinary action to be taken against him.

In her official complaint to the DOJ’s Office of Professional Responsibility, Stefanik claimed that Smith has engaged in egregious misconduct by pursuing criminal charges against Trump. Smith is currently overseeing two federal cases against the former president, claiming that he committed election interference while challenging the results of the 2020 presidential election and mishandled classified documents.
Stefanik argued that these cases are a clear attempt by Smith to interfere with the 2024 election and prevent Trump from potentially running for president again. She stated that it is obvious to any reasonable observer that Smith is motivated by personal bias and is breaching DOJ policies in his pursuit of Trump.

The congresswoman highlighted that Smith’s repeated attempts to expedite the federal case against Trump fly in the face of long-standing Justice Department policy. She also accused him of violating a stay of proceedings ordered by the United States District Court for the District of Columbia. Stefanik argued that this behavior is a clear breach of trial ethics and a violation of lawyerly conduct.
Stefanik also referenced several legal motions filed by Smith in the wake of the US Supreme Court’s decision to review Trump’s claims of presidential immunity for some of the charges he faces. She stated that pursuing legal action during a stay of proceedings is a blatant example of misconduct and should be investigated by the Office of Professional Responsibility.

Stefanik concluded her complaint by emphasizing that Smith’s actions have brought disrepute to the DOJ and the federal government as a whole. She urged the office to open an investigation and hold Smith accountable for his actions.
The complaint cites multiple violations of DOJ policies and a breach of trial ethics, as well as personal bias on the part of Smith. The congresswoman responsible for filing the complaint has called for disciplinary action to be taken against Smith and has requested an immediate investigation by the Office of Professional Responsibility. It remains to be seen what actions will be taken in response to this complaint and if it will have any impact on the ongoing legal cases against former President Trump.

Contempt Proceedings Set To Begin

United States Capitol
(5MinNewsBreak.com) – The House Judiciary Committee is on the verge of launching contempt of Congress proceedings against US Attorney General Merrick Garland due to a dispute over access to recordings from Special Counsel Robert Hur’s probe into President Joe Biden’s mishandling of classified documents.

There appears to be no resolution in the ongoing negotiations between House Republicans and the Department of Justice (DOJ) regarding the release of the audio files to legislators.
A source disclosed to The Daily Wire that preparations are underway for a markup on May 16.

House Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-KY) and Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) recently sent a communication to Garland, providing him with an additional ten days to fully adhere to the subpoenas issued in February or otherwise face contempt of Congress proceedings.

“Your response to the subpoenas remains inadequate, suggesting that you are withholding records for partisan purposes and to avoid political embarrassment for President Biden,” they stated in a letter dated April 15, as per a document seen by The Daily Caller.

It seems that all the talk in Washington is about classified documents. Who has them? Why were they retained? And what should be done about it? But those are the easy
questions. The more difficult ones concern why the American government produces more than 100 million classified documents every year. How many of those documents are properly and legitimately classified? John Kiriakou talks with whistleblower Jesselyn Radack about the the mishandling of classifed documents.

Daniel Hale released documents that came to be known as The Drone Papers once published in The Intercept. These proved during one five-month period in 2012 that nearly 90 percent of those killed in drone strikes were not the intended target. Rather, they were civilian bystanders, innocent people killed and classified as “enemies killed in action,” unless proven otherwise. He was fired and put in a "SuperMax" prison with the worst terrorists and criminals. On this episode of The Whistleblowers, John Kiriakou speaks with Ray McGovern, a former senior CIA officer and Co-founder of Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity about the whistleblower Daniel Hale.

Nancy Pelosi defended members of Congress and Federal Reserve officials who use classified information to trade stocks by claiming the US has a “free market” economy.

But how “free” is it when officials rig the system by blatantly engaging in insider trading?

Biden Attack On Trump Leads To Another Gaffe
DAILY REPORT
May 11,2024

President Joe Biden Can’t seem to help himself after he was embroiled in another gaffe at a private fundraiser in Portola Valley, California.
Pause

According to the Daily Mail, Biden was trying to attack former President Donald Trump when he made the blunder. Biden, while highlighting how Trump praised his relation with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un, accidentally said that Kim Jong Un was the leader of South Korea.

“The president talked of Trump’s pride from ‘love letters from South Korean president Kim Jong Un,’” the outlet wrote.
Biden’s latest gaffe is more outrageous given that he has met with the president of South Korea, Yoon Suk Yeol, on several occasions in attempts to bolster the U.S. relationship with South Korea. The meetings are part of the United States effort with South Korea and Japan to counter China’s rise.
The president’s latest gaffe will no doubt raise more concerns among the American people on whether Biden is fit to run for a second time in office. Several polls have shown that Biden, currently the nation’s oldest President, has a big problem with voters regarding his age and failing memory.
Special Counsel Robert Hur, who investigated Joe Biden’s classified file case, declined to charge the president even though he found that the president willfully mishandled the classified files.
