The NAACP has issued a travel advisory for Florida, stating it "has become hostile to black Americans." The League of United Latin American Citizens and LGBTQ advocacy group Equality Florida have previously issued similar travel advisories.

The formal travel notice states, "Florida is openly hostile toward African Americans, people of color and LGBTQ+ individuals. Before traveling to Florida, please understand that the state of Florida devalues and marginalizes the contributions of, and the challenges faced by African Americans and other communities of color."

When asked about the potential travel advisory in March, DeSantis responded, "What a joke... Yeah, we’ll see how effective that is. It’s ridiculous. And we’re proud to be leading the nation in tourism. This is part of the reason why our country goes through all of these — we get involved in these stupid fights. This is a stunt to try to do that. It’s a pure stunt.”

Chairman of the NAACP, Leon W. Russel, lives in Tampa Florida and has made no comment in regards to relocating from the unsafe and toxic state.
