I grew up in Alaska, which is far away from politics, so I became interested in the Constitution at a young age. When I was 15, I went on a tour of the history of the United States. It was one of the most interesting trips I've ever been on. It was a great experience that got me interested in history and government.

There was a movement to disparage the way our schools taught traditional history. It didn't surprise me much that my teacher had completely different ideas than what I heard on my tour. But, to his credit, he wasn't like what we see today in universities and even in primary and secondary schools.

Most people love their country but have different ideas about how to fix the problems. Are you willing to make the discussion with the people around you?
