A Small Bedside Cot That Attaches to Your Adult Bed

If you're looking to keep baby as close as you can at night, without having to get out of the bed, a crib that is placed beside your bed is the perfect solution. The breathable fabric allows you to see your baby clearly and they are simple to lower if you need a 3am feed.

Some double as moses' baskets.

What is a bedside crib?

A bedside crib, also known as a bassinet or a co-sleeper is a baby cot that is attached to an adult bed. This allows your child to sleep right next to you in safety. This is a type of co-sleeping in a safe manner that doesn't increase the risk of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) similar to bedsharing and can help you build a bond with your newborn.

They usually have a side that can be adjusted so that you can easily reach your baby at night to feed and comforting. This is particularly helpful for mums recovering from a c-section. Some are also foldable or portable, so you can take them on trips and use them as a temporary sleeping option for babies who aren't yet ready to move to a full-sized cot.

Find a crib that has a breathable mattress, and a protective cover that will shield your baby from staining. You'll also want to pick up some baby-safe add-ons like a blanket, teether and a soft toy.

If you're looking for a more long-term alternative, some cribs are equipped with conversion kits that let you turn them into a cot, or a toddler bed when the time comes. This can extend their lifespan and make the transition easier. Some even have a removable top section that converts into a bassinet, and some can be used on a regular or a high-rise adult bed. This is a great option for families who plan on frequently traveling or transferring between bedrooms during the night. Consider the dimensions of your bedroom to ensure that you fit in the crib comfortably. A lot of cribs have an adjustable riser that can be used to create an inclined position for infants who suffer from reflux.

The Joie Roomie Glide

The Roomie Glide, a bedside crib from the English brand Joie is a wonderful addition to their line of high-quality products for infants. Designed to allow parents to bond with their babies whilst sleeping together without sharing a bed. This co-sleeper comes with features that make bonding between parents and babies enjoyable, safe and easy.

One of the key features is a smooth, rocking motion that can be activated by the touch of the button. This gentle rhythm can help soothe your baby to sleep without disrupting their normal sleep patterns. This is great for toddlers or older babies who have difficulty settling down. It can also help with digestive issues such as colic and reflux.

The crib can also be attached to the side of the bed by an attachment strap and clip. This makes the crib very stable and secure, allowing you to sleep comfortably without fearing that your baby will roll off into the middle. The cocoon's rounded shape features softly padded sides and two mesh windows on both ends to allow for ample air flow while protecting your baby.

The mattress is firm and comfortable, and has an easily removable cover. The crib is easy to put together and take down thanks to an aluminum frame that is lightweight and makes it very portable. The four wheels that are rubber-covered and lockable ensure that the crib does not leave marks on your flooring and is easy to move. It is easy to clean with cloths that wipe clean and is easy to carry in a travel bag making it ideal for overnight time away from home.

The TuttiBambini CoZee Air

It is designed to be a secure crib that can be used as a next-to-me crib from birth until six months, this superior model features rocking bars and castors to allow for easy mobility. The airflow mattresses are deluxe and provide a comfortable sleeping surface, while ventilation panels help keep your baby cool. There are six different height settings as well as an incline option to help with congestion and reflux.

The Tutti Bambini COZee air crib has a fabric that can be removed and wipe-clean lining. This makes it much easier to clean than bedside cribs which can create messy to clean. It also has a top bar that can be easily lowered for feeding at night without having to fumble with zips in the dark.

Anna discovered that the CoZee was a comfortable and safe sleep space for her newborn. It was a pleasure to not move like other models so she wasn't woken up in the night trying to comfort her child to feed. She also loved the fact that the side could be lowered so that she didn't have to reach out over her partner to lift the baby to feed her at night.

The CoZee comes in charcoal or oak and is a fashionable addition to any bedroom. It's more an elegant piece of furniture than some of the other cribs we've tried, which appear quite utilitarian. It is also relatively light at 11kg, and comes with a carry case, so you can take it with you on vacation or when moving house. The only additional items you'll need to buy are a fitted waterproof sheet and a safety strap for co-sleeping. The instructions and illustrations are simple to follow once you open the box.

The Maxi-Cosi Lora

The Iora is an infant bassinet designed to help parents feel closer to their baby while they sleep. It adjusts upwards and downwards and slides through three positions to fit beside the parent's bed, or in the corner of the room to ensure that your baby is within arm's reach. https://www.cots4tots.co.uk/products/soft-grey-red-kite-dreamer-bedside-crib is breathable, allowing air to flow through and lets you glance at your child. The Iora is a smaller bedside crib that can fold flat. It also comes with a travel case which allows it to be taken anywhere. It was easy to move around from room to space, and our mum testers felt it was the perfect size for a bedside crib. They also loved the large storage basket that is ideal for storing spare bedding or nappies.

This is an excellent choice for parents looking to co-sleep, but do not want to share their own beds or whose partners may be prone to mobility issues, such as arthritis or back pain. Our mum testers love the ease with which they can access their baby in the Iora, and that it comes with an option to tilt the bed upwards to help with gas.

Our moms also love the fact that the mattress is in line with NICE guidelines that state to put the baby in the crib or Moses basket on its own (with no toys, blankets, pillows, etc). They also claim that the mattress is comfortable and firm for baby and is easy to find sheets for. It's not as light as the other smaller cribs on our list, so if you prefer something lighter and easier to move, choose another alternative.

The Soft Grey Red Kite Dreamer Bedside Crib is the perfect choice for your baby's nursery. Keep your little one close by for peaceful nights.
