ettings is high and leads to fear in patients and staff. The factors which promote fear in each group should be addressed in de-escalation training.
This work has identified organizational and behaviour change targets for interventions seeking to reduce violence and restrictive practices through the use of de-escalation in high-secure hospitals. The potential for, and occurrence of, violence in such settings is high and leads to fear in patients and staff. The factors which promote fear in each group should be addressed in de-escalation training.
Accurately identifying the magnitude of gender-based violence (GBV) in humanitarian settings is hindered by logistical and methodological complexities. The 'Neighborhood Method', an adapted household survey that uses primary and secondary reporting to assess the prevalence of GBV in humanitarian settings, reduces the length of time and cost associated with traditional surveys. Primary female adult respondents disclose incidents of physical violence, intimate and non-intimate partner rape for themselves, other females in their homes (standard reporting) and other women and children in their social networks (secondary reporting). This study examines the reliability and validity of this inclusion of secondary reporting to determine the comparability of the Neighborhood Method to a traditional survey approach.

Drawing on data from 1180 women reporting on 3744 females in respondent households and 15,086 in neighboring households across four humanitarian settings (Ethiopia/ Somalia, Liberia, Sri Lanka, and Uganporting as a tool for field epidemiologists in humanitarian settings.
For prevalence of GBV, secondary reporting about neighbors can serve as a useful adjunct to standard survey methodology. Findings offer important initial insights into the consistency and accuracy of secondary reporting as a tool for field epidemiologists in humanitarian settings.
Rural Afghan populations have low skilled birth attendance rates and high maternal and infant mortality. Insecurity and armed conflict, geographic barriers, and cultural norms often hinder women's access to facility-based reproductive, maternal, newborn, and child health (RMNCH) services. Community health workers (CHWs) are critical agents for behavioral change in this and similarly fragile settings, where RMNCH information exposure is limited by low literacy and mass media access. We assessed the feasibility and acceptability of a computer tablet-based health video library (HVL) to enhance CHW counseling on RMNCH topics in three rural Afghan districts.

The HVL was introduced by trained CHWs in 10 pilot communities within one rural district in each of Balkh, Herat, and Kandahar provinces. We used a mixed-methods study design to assess exposure to and perception of the HVL 6 months post-introduction. We surveyed married women (
 = 473) and men (
= 468) with at least one child under 5 years and conducted other key influencers to engineer local solutions that directly facilitate male HVL exposure, indirectly improve women's HVL access, and support collaborative spousal health decision-making. A larger efficacy trial is warranted to measure the HVL's effect on knowledge and health-related behavioral outcomes.
The HVL was a highly acceptable tool for relaying health information, but coverage of female audiences in Kandahar and male audiences broadly was low. The HVL should better engage men and other key influencers to engineer local solutions that directly facilitate male HVL exposure, indirectly improve women's HVL access, and support collaborative spousal health decision-making. A larger efficacy trial is warranted to measure the HVL's effect on knowledge and health-related behavioral outcomes.
Acne vulgaris is a very common skin disorder that has negative effects on the mood, self image and social relations of the patients. We want to evaluate the effects of acne vulgaris and its severity on depression, loneliness, internet addiction levels, and the quality of life of young adult females.

Two hundred three female acne vulgaris patients and 202 healthy controls who admitted to the dermatology clinic of a university hospital formed the study sample. Global Acne Grading System (GAGS) was used to assess the severity of acne. The Young Internet Addiction Scale-Short Form (YIAS-SF), The Acne Quality of Life Scale (AQLS), The University of California Los Angeles-Loneliness Scale (UCLA-LS), and The Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) were used to collect information about the patients.

The median BDI and the mean UCLA-LS and YIAS-SF scores were higher in the Acne group than those in the control group. The correlations between acne severity and the 3 scales were not significant but the correlations between AQLS and BDI, UCLA-LS, and YIAS-SF were highly significant. In multiple regression analysis, age and the BDI score predicted the YIAS-SF score significantly.

Our findings support the previous findings that acne vulgaris patients are prone to depression and loneliness, and expand these findings to the vulnerability against internet addiction. https://www.selleckchem.com/products/tp0427736-hcl.html Loneliness and depression should be assessed and, if found, targeted by psychological means to prevent internet addiction in acne vulgaris patients.

Huyang Yangkun Formula (HYYKF) was developed based on theory of traditional Chinese medicine as well as clinical experience and used to improve ovarian function of premature ovarian insufficiency (POI) patients. Transplantation of embryonic stem cells (ESCs) has great potential in improving POI, and studies have confirmed that traditional Chinese medicine promoted the treatment effect of ESCs. In the present study, we compared the effect of combining HYYKF and ESCs, single HYYKF treatment and single ESCs intervention on POI mice to explore the effect of combination of HYYKF and ESCs in improving ovarian function.

C57BL/6 mice were used to create a POI model by 15-day intraperitoneal injection of 160mg/kg of 4-vinylcyclonhexene diepoxide (VCD) and then treated with HYYKF, ESCs transplantation and combination of ESCs and HYYKF. When the treatments were finished, estrus cycle, ovarian follicle counting, serum sex hormone level, and expression of key nodes in the transforming growth factor beta/transforming growth factor beta-activated kinase 1 (TGF-β/TAK1) signaling pathway were determined.
