The ships are backed up because people are ordering more online from home guys. I'm a owner operator trucker ( not from California) but from the SE. I pull loads out of Cali all the time. So what about the ban on non DEF trucks. Most ( not all ) of those older trucks are off the road anyway. It's hard for them to make a living getting 3-5mpg. It is what it is, time moves on. I drive a 2020 Volvo Automatic now averaging 9mpg . Anyway, the ports there normally process 10 ships a day before all this. Since covi¿ they average 15. I don't know how many now but I'd imagine 25-30 in a 24hr time frame since that started. As far as a new shortage of truckers. False, we've always been sparce. It's a life not many can handle. Which is why you see alot of Military Vets out here driving such as myself. Did you know in 2020 alone over 50k truckers were trained and hired? There already isn't enough parking for us as it is. This would not have happened under a Trump administration. Period
