Purpose Nurses are suffering from considerable work-related stress, which can result in disturbed sleep and depressive symptoms. Whereas, recovery experience can alleviate sleep disturbance and help maintain well-being in the working environment. The aim of this study was to examine whether recovery experiences play a mediating role in the relationship between sleep disturbance and depressive symptoms of female nurses in Chinese public hospitals. Methods From December 2017 to May 2018, the study with proportional sampling of cross-sectional design was carried out in the public tertiary hospitals from Shenyang of Liaoning Province in China. A total of 1500 female nurses who had been working for one or more years participated in this study. A structural equation model (SEM) was applied to test the assumption that recovery experiences might function as a mediator in the relationship between sleep disturbance and symptoms of depression. Results Sleep disturbance contributed most to the variance (32.9%) of depress. Background Consumers had to encounter and consider product-oriented and review-oriented cues before making an online purchasing decision. It was important to resolve how these cues influenced consumers' online purchasing decision. We also knew little about how the human brain processed these cues simultaneously, and which cue would occupy a dominant position in neural activity. The purpose of the present study was to investigate the neural correlates of online shopping decisions and how online rating and product price jointly influenced such purchase decisions. Research Method Eighteen undergraduates were recruited to participate in this research. Each participant was exposed to all four experimental conditions combining 2 (product price high vs. low) × 2 (online rating positive vs. negative) with a total of 192 trials. They were required to rate the degree of willingness-to-pay. EEG data were obtained with 64 electrodes placed on the Easy Cap according to the International 10-20 system. We conducted both thebe paid to online ratings on the webpage of the electronic store, because negative ratings made a product less appealing for prospective consumers regardless of price. Thus, the owners should build good reputations for their online products, which were fundamental to the consumers' online purchasing decisions. © 2020 Sun et al.Background Burden of substance abuse is becoming a worldwide problem. One of the psychostimulant plants widely consumed in Ethiopia and other East African countries is Catha edulis Forsk (khat). Most of the users claim that its stimulatory effect is the determinant factor that makes them use. However, its rewarding and reinforcing potential and variation between sexes have not been investigated. This study was, therefore, designed to measure the rewarding effect of khat extract (ke) in the addiction mice model of both sexes. Materials and Methods Forty-eight Swiss albino mice of both sexes (age 6-7 weeks) weighing 21-33 gm were used. https://www.selleckchem.com/products/vb124.html'>https://www.selleckchem.com/products/vb124.html The mice were conditioned to ke (100 mg/kg, 200 mg/kg and 300 mg/kg b.w). The control group was conditioned to tween 80 (2%, v/v) in distilled water. The reinforcing effect of khat was evaluated using the conditioned place preference paradigm. The classical pairing to the extract was made using the place conditioning box. Post-conditioning tests have been conducted four times andas significantly higher in female mice. https://www.selleckchem.com/products/vb124.html'>https://www.selleckchem.com/products/vb124.html The crude khat extract did not affect food consumption and total body weight. The mechanisms behind the rewarding response of khat extract and sexual differences should be investigated. © 2020 Limenie et al.Objective Lateral humeral condyle fractures are the second most common elbow fractures in children. Both K-wire fixation and screw fixation have been advocated as suitable treatment options for displaced fractures. This study aimed to identify which fixation method was associated with the best functional outcomes. Methods A systematic review was conducted. Studies reporting functional outcomes following surgical fixation of lateral condyle fractures were included for review. The primary outcome measure was functional outcome. The secondary outcome measure was major complications. A narrative analysis was undertaken, as meta-analysis was felt to be inappropriate due to the differences between included studies. Results Ten retrospective non-randomised, comparative studies were eligible and included. No randomised-controlled trials were identified. The highest rate of excellent functional outcomes was seen with screw fixation (120/126 [95%]), compared with K-wire fixation (135/162 [86%]). The incidence of major complications was comparable, with complications in 6/95 (6%) of screw fixations and 6/141 (4%) K-wire fixations. A small sample of data on closed reduction demonstrated excellent functional results in 73 of 76 (96%) of patients. Closed reduction of displaced fractures is associated with a significant learning curve however. Conclusion The evidence was of poor quality and comprised of retrospective case series. This prevented meta-analysis and any firm conclusions being drawn from the available data. Screw fixation may be associated with improved functional outcomes. Complication rates between the two methods are comparable. Further prospective studies are recommended. © 2020 Birkett et al.Objective Flurbiprofen 8.75 mg spray and lozenge have a rapid onset of action for sore throat relief, suggesting local action, although tissue penetration and the mechanism of local relief have not been determined. This investigation aimed to quantify the permeation and penetration of flurbiprofen, applied as local pharmaceutical forms, into full-thickness cadaveric human mucosal pharynx tissue, representing the clinical scenario as far as possible. Methods A validated high-performance liquid chromatography method quantified the permeation and penetration of flurbiprofen (spray and lozenge formulations) into human cadaveric pharynx tissue using a micro Franz cell model mimicking physiological and anatomical conditions. Full-thickness mucosal pharynx tissue, consisting of oral epithelium, basement membrane, and lamina propria, was utilized to imitate the in vivo setting. Flurbiprofen was analyzed on the surface of the pharynx tissue, within the pharynx tissue and in receiver fluid, over 60 mins. Results Flurbiprofen was detected in receiver fluid from 10 mins following spray application and was quantifiable from 20 mins.
