Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that vacuum and mop provide the convenience of removing dry debris (dust dirt, grit) and wet messes (spills or stains) in one go without having to swap out devices. They can also help save space when compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot will provide excellent navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for models that have docks that let them automatically empty their bins, refill their water tanks, and wash the mopping pads.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It has a lot to offer for its modest price, and it's one of the most simple robots we've tested to set up. Unpacking is easy, and the quick-start guide will have you running in no time. It comes with an entire dust bag, water tank, and a hard floor.
The S1 Pro is a powerful small machine that can mops up a storm and is a great vacuum cleaner too. The mops are spun at a high speed and utilize 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to quickly remove dirt, pet hair and sticky dried spills. The vacuum comes with four power modes, a selection of brushes and attachments, and a user-friendly app that lets you select the exact kind of cleaning you'd like for each room.
You could, for instance, ask the robot to clean the kitchen and living room thoroughly, but leave the spare bedroom alone. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors as well as smart navigation technology. It can detect small obstacles that other models cannot. Its only issue is that the robot tends to hit walls and objects at full speed. However an inspection of the history of cleaning on the app will show you precisely what the robot has done, where it is moving, and what obstacles it has stumbled upon or avoided.
A convenient LCD screen on the docking station shows you when maintenance tasks must be completed, such as emptying the debris tray and cleaning the dirty water tank. It's also capable of mixing detergent automatically into the water tank by using a 600ml bottle filled with Eufy's own solution.
Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum come with a long-running time. The mop can operate for 184 mins in Quiet Mode and the vacuum can run for 136 minutes in normal mode, prior to needing recharging or returning to the base. You can also view the complete cleaning details within the app, which is intuitively laid out and easily understood however we would like to be able to distinguish between a vacuum only or a vacuum/mop clean when looking at a cleaned area in the cleaning history.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the most recent version of the company's flagship robot mop and vacuum. The model this year has an agitator that doubles as its mopping pad. This improves the carpet cleaning capabilities of this model. The S8 Pro Ultra has an enhanced suction power that enables it to pick up smaller hairs and other particles other robotic cleaners might miss.
This Roborock model, like the other two I tested, has infrared and reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology to help it get around obstacles like walls, furniture, and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things one step further by incorporating a dual camera that can recognize objects and determine whether they are a wall or another surface. It then can alter its course in a way that is automatic and clean around them without missing a step.
It's the most expensive model I've tested and it comes with the most features. Its sleek and angular design is attractive and it has only three physical buttons that include the power button that also resumes cleaning; a mop button that doubles as a child lock and a home button that can bring the robot back to its dock. The hinged lid opens up to reveal a 350ml dustbin and 200ml water tank. The water tank will empty itself and the bin is auto-refilling.
https://kirkpatrick-bateman.hubstack.net/what-is-the-heck-what-exactly-is-robot-vacuums-that-mop have discovered with this model was that the VibraRise mop pad mount is not removable. You can replace the mopping cloth when required, but it's not easy to take the mount off for manual washing. I've noticed that any plush carpet the robot crosses will come into contact with the Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and can cause scratches.
The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a range of intelligent features that include support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The Roborock app is where you can manage and set up these features. It also has maps and advanced mopping options. The app also allows you to schedule cleanings and monitor battery life and component maintenance. However, you'll have to go through a few hurdles to enable voice control with this model which is unfortunate considering the quality of its performance.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is a market leader with innovative features, superior suction power and advanced mowing capabilities. Its smart design allows you to customize and efficiently clean while saving time.
The X40 is the first robotic vacuum cleaner that can deliver 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which makes it one of the top options available. This powerful vacuum can clean up dry mess, including pet hair and food particles. It also comes with a high-quality mop that leaves hard floors spotlessly clean, even without a wet pad. Additionally, the X40 is quiet in operation, only producing occasional bursts of sound when switching between modes or completing self-maintenance tasks.
The X40 has a side brush that is able to be lifted and extended. This lets it reach into corners that are hard to reach and clean curved furniture like table and chair legs. It also lets the robot to reach under low-profile furniture, making it a great option for apartments or condominiums with small spaces. The side brush also automatically swivels downwards when it detects wet spots, which is a nice touch that helps the X40 keep floors safe from damage caused by the frequent back-and-forth movement.
Contrary to other robots which solely focus on one task, the X40 is capable of performing both vacuuming and mopping at the same time or in a series. It can also be programmed to avoid areas with carpet and mop only hard floors, or vice versa. It can be controlled by the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure that voice-controlled operations are smooth and easy.
The app is simple and easy to use and the X40's intelligent features are simple to install. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, alter suction power and mode, view floor plans and mapping and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also monitor its progress and notify you when it is finished.
The X40 is easy-to-maintain and offers numerous convenient features, making it an ideal choice for busy families. The docking station can automatically empty the dustbin and wash the mop pads, then refill them with cleaning solution and fresh water. It will also tell you the moment when the mop pad has reached its capacity to the max and alert you to the situation before it overflows.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available. It does have a number of characteristics that make it stand out. Its mops have a new feature called Smart DuoScrub. It utilizes two mops that are high-speed to scrub floors more thoroughly than the standard method, and it has the highest suction power of 7,000Pa. This is more than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni, and it can vacuum up pet hair and small dirt particles - in addition to removing spills and wet spots.
The mops are also cleaned and dried inside the base station after every use. This is beneficial because it prevents mould and unpleasant odours from accumulating in the storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature that we haven't seen in other robot mop or vacuum models. It could be a great way to keep your home cleaner longer.
There are plenty of choices, including the possibility to schedule cleanings and change preferences. These can be set via the app or buttons that can be found on the device itself. The app is easy to use and provides a variety of options for customizing the cleaning routine. Additionally, there are a lot of features that other robots do not have - such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power when it detects dust particles instead of relying on the manual setting.
The L20 Ultra has a stylish design that has a white-and-metallic look that looks elegant and sophisticated. It's heavier than some of the other two-in-1 robots on this list, at 4kg however it's not overly heavy, and it feels robust and well built. The mopping is also well-designed and the double-rotating mops work well on hard floors and in corners. They can also reach down to 2mm baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature, which is a nice addition.
