Pellet intake was significantly decreased by BSFL provisioning during day 4-11 post-weaning, although feed and net energy intake including BSFL never differed between treatments. BSFL provisioning did not influence piglet growth, feed efficiency, energy efficiency, and faecal consistency. To conclude, live BSFL provisioning positively affected post-weaning piglet behaviour while maintaining performance.Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) has aroused wide public concern, as it affects approximately 1.8-25.1% of pregnancies worldwide. This study aimed to examine the association of pre-pregnancy demographic parameters and early-pregnancy laboratory biomarkers with later GDM risk, and further to establish a nomogram prediction model. This study is based on the big obstetric data from 10 "AAA" hospitals in Xiamen. GDM was diagnosed according to the International Association of Diabetes and Pregnancy Study Group (IADPSG) criteria. Data are analyzed using Stata (v14.1) and R (v3.5.2). Total 187,432 gestational women free of pre-pregnancy diabetes mellitus were eligible for analysis, including 49,611 women with GDM and 137,821 women without GDM. Irrespective of confounding adjustment, eight independent factors were consistently and significantly associated with GDM, including pre-pregnancy body mass index (BMI), pre-pregnancy intake of folic acid, white cell count, platelet count, alanine transaminase, albumin, direct bilirubin, and creatinine (p  less then  0.001). Notably, per 3 kg/m2 increment in pre-pregnancy BMI was associated with 22% increased risk [adjusted odds ratio (OR) 1.22, 95% confidence interval (CI) 1.21-1.24, p  less then  0.001], and pre-pregnancy intake of folic acid can reduce GDM risk by 27% (adjusted OR 0.73, 95% CI 0.69-0.79, p  less then  0.001). The eight significant factors exhibited decent prediction performance as reflected by calibration and discrimination statistics and decision curve analysis. To enhance clinical application, a nomogram model was established by incorporating age and above eight factors, and importantly this model had a prediction accuracy of 87%. Taken together, eight independent pre-/early-pregnancy predictors were identified in significant association with later GDM risk, and importantly a nomogram modeling these predictors has over 85% accuracy in early detecting pregnant women who will progress to GDM later.The neural representation of the body is easily altered by the integration of multiple sensory signals in the brain. The "rubber hand illusion" (RHI) is one of the most popular experimental paradigms to investigate this phenomenon. During this illusion, a feeling of ownership of the rubber hand is created. Some studies have shown that somatosensory processing in the brain is attenuated when RHI occurs. However, it is unknown where attenuation of somatosensory processing occurs. Here, we show that somatosensory processing is attenuated in the primary somatosensory cortex. We found that the earliest response of somatosensory evoked potentials, which is thought to originate from the primary somatosensory cortex, was attenuated during RHI. Furthermore, this attenuation was observed before the occurrence of the illusion. In this study, the presence of nerves and their cross-sectional size were quantified by immunohistochemistry for the neuronal markers S-100, PGP9.5 and GAP-43 in a series of 99 pancreatic cancer cases versus 71 normal adjacent pancreatic tissues. A trend was observed between the presence of nerves in the tumor microenvironment of pancreatic cancer and worse overall patient survival (HR = 1.8, 95% CI 0.77-4.28, p = 0.08). The size of nerves, as measured by cross-sectional area, were significantly higher in pancreatic cancer than in the normal adjacent tissue (p = 0.002) and larger nerves were directly associated with worse patient survival (HR = 0.41, 95% CI 0.19-0.87, p = 0.04). In conclusion, this study suggests that the presence and size of nerves within the pancreatic cancer microenvironment are associated with tumor aggressiveness.To identify the risk factors of mortality for the coronavirus disease 19 (COVID-19) patients admitted to intensive care units (ICUs) through a retrospective analysis. The demographic, clinical, laboratory, and chest imaging data of patients admitted to the ICU of Huoshenshan Hospital from February 10 to April 10, 2020 were retrospectively analyzed. Student's t-test and Chi-square test were used to compare the continuous and categorical variables, respectively. The logistic regression model was employed to ascertain the risk factors of mortality. This retrospective study involved 123 patients, including 64 dead and 59 survivors. Among them, 57 people were tested for interleukin-6 (IL-6) (20 died and 37 survived). In all included patients, the oxygenation index (PaO2/FiO2) was identified as an independent risk factor (odd ratio [OR] = 0.96, 95% confidence interval [CI] 0.928-0.994, p = 0.021). The area under the curve (AUC) was 0.895 (95% CI 0.826-0.943, p  less then  0.0001). Among the patients tested for IL-6, the PaO2/FiO2 (OR = 0.955, 95%CI 0.915-0.996, p = 0.032) and IL-6 (OR = 1.013, 95%CI 1.001-1.025, p = 0.028) were identified as independent risk factors. Our previous research demonstrated that high fluence RL reduces fibroblast proliferation, collagen deposition, and migration. Despite the identification of several cellular mechanisms underpinning RL phototherapy, little is known about the transcriptional changes that lead to anti-fibrotic cellular responses. Herein, RNA sequencing was performed on human dermal fibroblasts treated with RL phototherapy. Pathway enrichment and transcription factor analysis revealed regulation of extracellular matrices, proliferation, and cellular responses to oxygen-containing compounds following RL phototherapy. Specifically, RL phototherapy increased the expression of MMP1, which codes for matrix metalloproteinase-1 (MMP-1) and is responsible for remodeling extracellular collagen.
