Upgrades can boost the stats of a piece and, sometimes, even add extras. The value of these upgrades is determined by their tiers, requirements, and the amount of random enhancements applied.
For instance, the top racial shield Razortail is often upgraded to enhance its lightning absorb capability in PvP, or to add additional defenses on missile based builds in PvM. This makes it more tradeable than the non-upgraded perfect version.
Reroll Tokens
Reroll tokens permit you to roll a purchased item like a weapon, armor or ring. This replaces the item with another item of the same type however with different bonuses. Reroll tokens are an economical method of upgrading equipment. However, they don't retain the level of the original item and any resources that are wasted won't be compensated for.
Survivors may acquire reroll tokens by a variety of means like the Mistery Box or as rare drops from skulled creatures.
