CHEVALIER: Another movie about revolution was the story of former black French slave violinist genius Chevalier. MIDNIGHT AT THE COFFEE SHOP had introduced the creative genius of the black violinists which caused more research into the history of. Research which was not easy. Emperor of France, Napoleon, had made a major effort to erase the name of Chevalier from France's historical records. Chevalier was the pride of the French monarchy until he identified with the suffering of the common people of France and joined the revolution to become one of its shining military leaders. Like they say, poverty creates revolutionaries. An identity with suffering is all it takes. As the movie dramatically reveals, those who grow up in wealth and privilege care not for the suffering of the people. The very wealthy live in a fantasy world trying endlessly to protect their wealth until capitalist greed creates so many poor that the poor have no further choice in survival but to "eat the rich" - figuratively
