Is this justice?

The Daily Mail reported that after her requested vegan Thanksgiving meal she had the option to then play a game of kickball or volleyball, then after that inmates also had an opportunity to watch holiday movies after activity time. Apparently, the low security prison also offers a host of other outdoor activities such as softball, flag football, yoga, pilates and cosmetology classes.

Does this sound like punishment or a government-funded country club to you? 

Meanwhile, Air Force drone analyst Daniel Hale exposed how the U.S. drone program is killing civilians and was sentenced to 45 months in prison after pleading guilty to violating a single count of the Espionage Act. He wrote that he observed the military routinely label all “military age males” killed in drone strikes as “enemies killed in action,” regardless of what they were doing or whether the government knew their identities. Hale told the court that he leaked documents on the drone program out of a sense of moral duty. “I am here because I stole something that was never mine to take — precious human life,” he said at his sentencing. “I couldn’t keep living in a world in which people pretend that things weren’t happening that were. Please, your honor, forgive me for taking papers instead of human lives.”

U.S. drone operations abroad have killed between 9,000 and 17,000 people since 2004, according to an estimate from the Bureau of Investigative Journalism, including as many as 2,200 children and multiple U.S. citizens.
