At Thanksgiving-time we found a seasonal gift bag at our front door......
Inside the bag was the most beautiful pine scented candle and with it, two kitchen hand-towels with funny and corpulent turkeys.....a gesture from two of our neighbors nearby which was wonderfully received.....so thoughtful........ xoxo
So I put my "ELF" hat on and designed and decorated a special wreath to delight all of the generations celebrating with them around the holidays......
I chose a 24" imitation pine wreath and attached three large poinsettias, bright christmas balls, a few small pincones and lots of faux leaves. Accented with carefully placed sea-shells from our local shores and acorns from our giving Oaks Trees.
When finished, I walked it over to our neighbors house one morning and as a good "elf" would do, I left it propped up by the front door of our lovely friends.......🙂
They loved the wreath and I really love being the Christmas "elf".............❤

The last few years of my mothers life, I watched her memory slip a bit. We didn't panic, no never....we made if fun and funny....(kind-of if you don't laugh you'll cry type of thing)
We used to laugh in the face of adversity, (some thought we were batty...😉....) like when she couldn't remember the remote control commands for viewing a movie on tape, (new to all of us at one point) I came up with this note and taped it to her dresser where her VCR and TV set perched. And, it worked. Then when she did it herself, she was empowered.
So, over this Christmas once again this year, I re-watched for about the umpteenth time, all four of the "Lethal Weapon" movies in honor of my Mama....... xoxo
Mom's favorite movies were certain John Wayne and Clint Eastwood westerns AND the "Lethal Weapon" movies.
"Chisummmm, John Chisummmm"....private joke with me and Mom.....any John Wayne movie fans out there???......😉..........
The last few years celebrating Christmas with Mom meant that Christmastime wouldn't be Christmastime if she didn't watch the "Lethal Weapon"movies at some point....(she had taped two off of the TV and borrowed the rest from the library before I gifted her a set)
One year, I went on EBay and found a brand new set of all four "Lethal Weapon" movies on video. And, the rest is my funny family history..........🙂
Although Mom and I would re-watch them all throughout the year, every year at Christmastime, was a special viewing....
So, in memory of my beautiful and witty Mom, again this Christmastime, I loved re-watching some of our favorites......especially the "Lethal Weapon" movies.............. xoxo
This crumpled up note brought back so many memories for me.......❤
Now, I'm off to re-watch more of our favorites.......hummm....maybe Bogart and Bacall.....🙂........yes, coming up...I will be re-watching more..........❤

Called in the bakery, a 'Cigar'.........
This is a quasi recreation of that pastry done by the head chef of my casa......
Rolled dough with honey brushed on the layers....chocolate and crushed pistachio nuts , maple syrup and brushed on top, honey.......I'm probably forgetting ingredients because this was a last minute thing because of having 'extra' dough........but is was soooooooooooooo good................❤
All organic ingredients and no refined sugar...........(nailed it).......!!!!

Homemade Apple-Rum Pie
Only three 'Red Delicious apples, sliced, skins on.....
Simmering apples and then added rum and spices.....simmer and cook more.....oh so thick.......
The crust is perfect if you are a crust fan like me.....
At first your not sure of the flavor........although cooked out, it is unmistakably rum.......
One word...Yum............xoxo
