(fiction)

It was amazing and terrifying. They made our military and doctors and nurses and anyone else who would have been able to help us now, take that "vaccine". They're all gone now.

The virus took the elderly, first. Then those whose immune systems weren't up to par. Then the "vaccine" came into play. It was not what they primised us. Ultimately, it took out the last lines of defense, in case of emergency.

There's a few of us left. No power, except at the fealty training camps. It's getting colder. Food is getting more scarce by the day.

There's nobody left to point the finger at. Nobody left to say "I told you so". All of it is gone...

You might wonder how this could have happened. All I know is that it was extremely calculated and immensely clever. Between the clever division of the people and the seemingly inept government, our country, along with the rest of the world, fell to pieces in under one year.

Medical mandates had a huge roll. Without freedom of choice, people were given very few options. Submit or die. Sounds pretty harsh, but that's basically how it went. No, nobody outright killed non-compliers, but instead made it to where they couldn't work and earn money. They couldn't go into stores, to get food. The hospitals stopped accepting "non-vaccinated" patients. Without enough workers, the supply chains started to break down.

The government had assumed control over every aspect of the people's lives. They did this through loopholes in their "emergency powers" stipulations. Once they had enacted these powers, they never relinqueshed them. They repeatedly used a few high-profile media characters to subdue the masses. It was insane, how fast people started letting others do the thinking for them. Towards the end, some of the people awoke from their media-drunk stupors and began to realize the scope of the damage that had already been inflicted upon the world.

Most people blamed fear. They chose to remain loyal to their governments, arguing that the government had their best interests in mind, even though, history paints a different picture.

I am but one of a very few. My hunger, thirst and self preservation are all that drive me. I hope to see the end of this, some day. It would make a great story...
