Phenotypic severity in non-mosaic tetrasomy 9p widely differs depending on the chromosomal content. We recommend performing appropriate genetic tests in those pregnancies with the suspicion of tetrasomy 9p, evaluating the mosaic state, and following those cases with detailed ultrasonographic examinations.
Only a few cases of early-stage ovarian granulosa cell tumor (GCT) with lung metastasis have been previously documented in the literature. We present a case of stage IA adult-type ovarian GCT with late pelvic recurrence and lung metastasis and review the relevant literature.

A 71-year-old female who underwent total abdominal hysterectomy and bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy for an ovarian GCT in her early 50s presented with pelvic recurrence 16 years later. Lung metastasis was accidentally discovered during a preoperative computed tomography scan of the pelvic tumor. The patient received surgical resection and adjuvant chemotherapy. She remains alive and healthy without evidence of disease after 12 months of follow up.

This case illustrates the importance of long-term follow-up for early-stage GCTs. It also highlights the requirement of extended examination for possible extra-abdominal/pelvic tumors.

Hereditary sensory and autonomic neuropathies (HSANs) are a clinical heterogenous group of inherited neuropathies featuring prominent sensory and autonomic involvement. We report on the management of pregnancy and delivery in a woman with HSAN type V (HSAN-V) that is a rare inherited disease characterized by pain insensitivity, and partial anhidrosis.

A 25-year-old woman with HSAN-V at six weeks of gestation was referred to our hospital. She decided to continue her pregnancy after the genetic counseling. A multidisciplinary team including her decided to undergo cesarean section due to her short stature and the risk of an emergency in normal delivery. She successfully gave birth at 38 weeks of gestation by cesarean section under general anesthesia following an uneventful pregnancy course.

Cesarean section seems favorable to vaginal delivery in women with HSANs.

We encountered a case of high-grade serous carcinoma (HGSC) of the ovary which recurred as carcinosarcoma of the sigmoid colon. Tumor cells of both the primary carcinoma and the secondary carcinosarcoma were negative for estrogen receptor (ER), WT-1, and PAX8. It is well known that most ovarian carcinomas arising from the Müllerian duct are immunoreactive for these biologic parameters. To our knowledge, this is the first case report that provides the results of immunohistochemical analysis of WT-1 and PAX8 for a primary carcinoma and recurrent carcinosarcoma.

A 61-year-old woman had an advanced right ovarian HGSC. After a primary debulking surgery (hysterectomy, bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy and omentectomy) and adjuvant chemotherapy, complete remission was achieved. However, four and a half years later, a tumor arising beside the sigmoid colon was detected. A tumorectomy was performed through combined partial resection of the ileum and sigmoid colon. Microscopically, the tumor was diagnosed as carcinosarcoma of the sigmoid colon, which had originated from HGSC of the ovary. Interestingly, the malignant cells of the primary carcinoma and epithelial components of the recurrent carcinosarcoma were negative for ER, WT-1, and PAX8. These immunohistochemical features were unusual. Three cycles of chemotherapy with the previously used regimen and three additional cycles of doxorubicin and ifosfamide combination chemotherapy were administered. Currently, 3 years after the final chemotherapy was administered, the patient remains healthy.

HGSC of the ovary can recur as carcinosarcoma. Tumor cells of the primary HGSC without ER, WT-1, and PAX8 expression may have dedifferentiated and recurred as carcinosarcoma.

Increasing obstetric medical litigations had great impacts in health care system resulted in lower recruitment of residents and higher medical cost of defensive medicine in Taiwan. In order to reduce medical litigation, the "Childbirth Accident Emergency Relief Act" was implemented in June 2016. This study presented five-year results of a novel childbirth accident compensation system.

The purpose of the Relief Act was to establish a national relief system to ensure timely relief, reduce medical disputes, promote the partnership between patient and medical personnel. The compensations included maximal 2 million NTD for maternal death, maximal 0.3 million NTD for neonatal and fetal deaths, and 3, 2, and 1.5 million NTD for maternal or neonatal profound, severe, and moderate disabilities, respectively. Puerperal hysterectomy was included with maximal 0.8 million NTD compensation.

Since June 30, 2016 to June 30, 2021, there were 1340 applications reviewed by Committee and 1258 were approved with total relieient alternative disputes resolution to childbirth accidents.Flood is one of the natural disasters with high prevalence in the world. The aim of this research was to investigate the effect of flood on pregnancy outcome and pregnancy complication such as preterm birth, LBW, SGA, stillbirth, spontaneous abortion, preeclampsia and eclampsia. This is a systematic review based on the PRISMA model that examines pregnancy disorder, pregnancy complication, and reproductive outcomes in floods. For fulfilling of the objectives of the research, related keywords were identified using Mesh and Emtree databases. Then the search was done in the electronic database of Medline, Web of Science, Embase, scopus until 2021.2.10. The search strategy in the Medline database. Database searches resulted in 823 non-duplicate records. After reading the abstracts, 808 articles were excluded. 15 abstracts were eligible for the study, which their full texts were provided. Finally based on inclusion and exclusion criteria 7 articles were included in this study. After flood, the rate of LBW birth and gestational hypertension increases. However, there is no significant difference in preterm birth rates. Pregnancy complications can be reduced or prevented by starting prenatal care early and also by controlling risk factors such as reducing smoking and alcohol consumption.

To provide Canadian surgeons and other providers who offer female genital cosmetic surgery (FGCS) and procedures, and their referring practitioners, with evidence-based direction in response to increasing requests for, and availability of, vaginal and vulvar surgeries and procedures that fall outside the traditional realm of medically indicated reconstructions.

Women of all ages seeking FGCS or procedures.

Health care providers play an important role in educating women about their anatomy and helping them appreciate individual variations. Most women requesting FGCS and procedures have normal genitalia, and up to 87% are reassured by counselling. At this time, due to lack of rigorous clinical or scientific evidence of short- and long-term efficacy and safety, FGCS and procedures for non-medical indications cannot be supported. FGCS and procedures are typically provided in the private sector, where costs are borne by the patient.

Literature was retrieved through searches of MEDLINE, Scopus, and The Cochx A (TablesA1 for definitions and A2 for interpretations of strong and weak recommendations).

We used a prospective cohort of pregnant women at 12 to 20 weeks gestation between 2002 and 2008 in Ottawa and Kingston to evaluate the impact of early pregnancy folic acid supplementation on the risk of gestational diabetes mellitus. Among 7552 eligible women, 84 (1.11%) were diagnosed of gestational diabetes mellitus. Non-significant associations were observed between gestational diabetes mellitus and folate supplementation, homocysteine levels, and methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase 677 TT genotype. Although we found no significant associations between folic acid supplementation and the risk of gestational diabetes mellitus, genetic associations were not confounded by lifestyle or socioeconomic factors, which may have biased previous studies.Prediction of Remaining Useful Life (RUL) of bearings is very important for the condition-based maintenance of the rotating machinery. In order to predict the RUL more accurately, an approach of RUL prediction based on risk assessment and degradation state coefficient is proposed. The Mahalanobis Distance (MD) is calculated depending on the characteristics of vibration signals in the time domain and time-frequency domain. The features in the time-frequency domain are extracted by using Variational Mode Decomposition-Singular Value Decomposition (VMD-SVD). The monotonously increasing Health Indicator (HI) is obtained by using MD1-CUMSUM. The risk assessment is proposed to adaptively determine the thresholds of initial fault and failure, which is a trade-off between the false alarm rate and sensitivity. The RUL prediction of the testing bearing is completed based on the Genetic Algorithm-Support Vector Regression (GA-SVR) and Modified Health Indicator (MHI) with the degradation state coefficient. The proposed approach is verified by using two experimental vibration signal datasets.
