Cheap Single Pushchairs

The Babyzen Yoyo stroller is a good option if you are on a tight budget and don't need an extra stroller that can be used as car seat carriers. It has a simple one-step foot brake that's flip-flop friendly.

It's easy to push and it is solid when navigating kerbs and woodland paths. Plus, it's a dream to fold.

1. Babyzen YOYO2

The Babyzen YOYO2 has earned itself a reputation as the ultimate stroller that is light, ideal for urban dwellers as well as jet-setters. This is due to its nimble maneuverability and fold which fits in an aeroplane's overhead luggage. This latest version features independent suspension on all 4 wheels made of Hytrel elastomer, which allows it to effortlessly traverse all terrains and types'.

The base YOYO2 frame, curved fabric bassinet and 6+ month color pack create a stylish pushchair that's easy on the eye and has a subtle but elegant design and a tasteful branding. The frame's weight alone is less than a kilo and is so light you can easily lift it from the box (and do it with one hand).

The hood, for instance snaps onto the YOYO2 with a reassuring manner. It is machine washable at 30deg which helps avoid staining caused by smushed and mashed carrot puffs and rice cakes. The Newborn Pack and bassinet can be used from birth as prams. It can also be transformed into a stroller at 6 months by using the YOYO connect to additional chassis.

2. Evenflo Pivot Xplore

Evenflo Pivot Xplore stroller wagon is a great choice for parents seeking a stroller that is versatile. It transforms from a stroller to wagon by simply flipping the handle, so parents can select which mode they prefer on their journey. The wagon can be used by one or two children from 6 months old to 5 years, and it comes with a large storage basket that can accommodate everything you need on the go.

The Xplore also features dual canopies that move from front to back, ensuring ample sun protection for all family members. It has a smaller footwell than some wagons. This may not be suitable for long trips or naps.

The frame of the Xplore wagon is solid and sturdy, but it doesn't bend as much as some other wagons that we tried. It is also more difficult to fold than some of the competition, and it does not lock tightly when folded. It is easy to move however, and is able to fit through narrow 28 inches doors.

3. Delta Children LX Side by Side

This Delta Children bare-bones travel stroller is a great option for parents who are looking for a second stroller that's priced reasonably. It scored well in our Strollers and Multiples Test for weight and fold dimensions, meaning it is lightweight and compact when folded and easy to move and store in a trunk of a car. It also offers the option of reclining in multiple positions and a parent cup holder. Other important features include two large hanging storage bags and 360-degree shock-absorbing front wheels.

It performed better in our push and turn test than many of the strollers we tested, but it is still difficult to maneuver over uneven terrain or through narrow doors. The sunshades it has are among the most compact we tested, with only direct overhead coverage and no peekaboo windows. The UPPAbaby G-Link 2 and Zoe Twin+ have larger canopies.

The Delta took us just over three minutes to put together with an average manual and no components required tools. However, it's missing certain essential features we believe you should not compromise on for a double stroller such as an extra-large basket and reclining seats with adjustable leg rests.

4. Maxi-Cosi Zelia 2-in-1

The Zelia is the newest model in Maxi-Cosi's range of pushchairs and is billed as an urban travel system. It is designed to accommodate infants from birth until approximately 3.5 years old, and can be converted into a seat and carrycot in just only a few clicks. It can be used with Maxi Cosi capsule car seats. It comes with a light Mico 30 infant seat, a car-base that stays in the car and reversible carriage.

It is really easy to manoeuvre and the one-hand recline of the seat and the massive shopping basket make it easy for parent-tots to get the child in and out of the seat quickly. Despite being narrow, the pushchair handled the bumps of everyday life well and was able to pass through doorways without fuss.

The front wheels can be locked in forward positions or allow them to swivel which helps when covering rough terrain. We let the front wheels to rotate during our walk on the stony path. It handled the situation well, though it did seem a little bumpier.

5. Baby Jogger City Tour 2

Baby Jogger is a household name for their all-terrain, 3-wheeler jogging pushchairs, but they also offer a great range of 4-wheeler strollers. The City Tour 2 is one of their most loved models. It is simple to use and folds up small enough to fit into the car boot, even with the carrycot attached.

It's a little heavier than other strollers we tested but the wheels are rubber composite, so it feels sturdy and durable. It is easy to maneuver across various terrains and even with two kids with shopping bags and other items.

The carrycot and the seat both have hoods with pull-down sun canopy extensions that are UV50+. They are durable and waterproof, in contrast to other prams hoods which can be blown back into toddlers faces.

It doesn't have a lot of storage space but it has a large, deep basket to accommodate a changing bag or plenty of groceries. It can also be connected with the Baby Jogger infant car seat to create a travel system for infants up to 20 lb (car seat and adapters sold separately). If you need a stroller that can be taken on the road, then the City Tour 2 is an excellent option.

The wheels are durable and filled with foam which minimizes punctures. The chassis is equipped with built-in suspension that eases the pain of rough terrain. Our test driver found it easy to push and was able to maneuver it through narrow streets with ease.

It folds in four simple steps and automatically locks without fuss. It can also be folded and raised for easier transport down the stairs, or in the boot of the car. The travel system is available with the option to add an additional car seat or carrycot using the adaptors that are included. The brakes have only one action and are color coded. They also work with flip-flops.

7. Babyzen Duet

This budget single pushchair is extremely easy to use and features an excellent dual suspension system, one-hand fold and a practical carry strap. It is also lightweight and sturdy. The seat can be reclined in many positions and is equipped with a double-breathable mattress that can be used from birth.

The canopy/seat comes with two big sun visors that can be fixed or removed. Both are UPF50+. The toggle closure isn’t ideal since it's not as silent as Velcro and could awaken napping babies.

The Duet is a angled stroller that can accommodate twins or siblings. (Up to 22kg per seat). It is compatible with two infant car seats and some carrycots. In twin mode seats, the seats can be positioned so that they face each the other. They can also be set towards the parents. This will help reduce sibling disputes about who sits with mom and dad. It comes with a huge tray for gears, a bottle holder and snack tray. It also comes with a compact stand fold and automatic frame lock.
