The alternative social media platform GETTR was trending Sunday after podcast host Joe Rogan announced he was joining. Rogan made this announcement after Twitter banned Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene as well as Dr. Robert Malone, a founding researcher of mRNA vaccine technology. Shortly after his announcement, thousands flocked to the self-proclaimed free speech media site. This also caused a lot of stir among media personalities like Elijah Schaffer who said he is "becoming suspicious" of the platform. Schaffer tweeted Tuesday that he reached out to GETTR to inquire about the ban of a controversial user and was told the user had violated their TOS. Schaffer said the platform has declined to respond to his inquiry as to which specific post violated the TOS. He tweeted, "I reached out to the banned individual, Nicholas Fuentes, for comment. He said there was no specific post or reason given, just banned w/out explanation just like Twitter does. With financing being from China and similar banning practices to Twitter. I’m not convinced atm."
