Fellow American,
Today, I will be speaking to the Turning Point USA chapter at Suffolk University, educating students about their fundamental right to freedom of speech and how it is being challenged and even attacked in their classrooms.

This campus visit -- and many more like it -- are made possible because of your commitment to Speech First and for that, we are immensely grateful.
At Speech First, we tirelessly work to break the silence that is often imposed on college students. One of the ways we do this is through educational campus talks like this one.

Our mission is to help students understand their rights and how they are being suppressed by restrictive policies and practices. Ranging from DEI policies to biased response systems, these anti-free speech tactics are often cloaked in ambiguity, leaving students unsure of what they can and cannot discuss and fearful of potential repercussions.
Your support has been instrumental in allowing us to shed light on these oppressive policies.

As I engage with students and hear their stories, it becomes increasingly clear how deeply anti-free speech polices have penetrated the culture on college campuses.
For many students, the realization of how their First Amendment rights are being stifled is a revelation.
And when I explain the psychological effect of these policies, these students deeply resonate with the fear and self-censorship spurred by college administrations.

You and I know that part of having an idea or belief is exposing it to opposition and defending it- a notion that seems to be misunderstood in our current academic climate. Opposing ideas can now be perceived as threats, and if your idea is seen as politically unpopular then you could be subject to a tribunal of college faculty and face expulsion.

Students are faced with the anxiety of unintentionally committing a “micro-aggression” and offending the wrong person, which may have serious consequences.
But, what these universities fail to realize is that infringing on a student’s First Amendment rights through fear mongering and anti-free speech policies have serious consequences too. And Speech First is here to remind schools that they have a duty to uphold the Constitution.

That’s why Speech First acts on behalf of these students and sues universities to create a campus culture where free thought can flourish.
Your gifts help us educate, advocate, and litigate against these anti-free speech policies on behalf of the students. Your gifts are making a difference.
Together, we can protect the rights of students and ensure that academic institutions remain spaces for intellectual exploration and growth.
With Gratitude,

Cherise Trump
