it’s disappointing that, in our country, a court ruled in favor of a middle school that silenced one of its students just for wearing a shirt that read “There are only two genders.”
But we’re amazed by his bravery.

After witnessing his school hold various “Pride”-themed events, Liam Morrison, a student at Nichols Middle School in Middleborough, Massachusetts, wanted to contribute to the ongoing conversation about these important issues of public concern.
In response, school staff promptly pulled him out of class and told him to either take the shirt off or be sent home from classes that day.

Liam chose to go home rather than surrender his constitutional right to speak.

While a federal district court ruled against Liam, we aren’t giving up. We’re appealing his case to the 1st Circuit Court of Appeals.
