Just kids patti smith is a memoir by Patti Smith which was published on 19 January, 2010 by Ecco. This basically documents her relationship with the artist ‘Robert Mapplethorpe’. She explained about it by saying “I didn’t write it to be cathartic, I wrote it because Robert asked me to…our relationship was such that I knew what he would want and the quality of what he deserved. So that was my agenda for writing this book. I wrote it to fulfil my vow to him, which was on his deathbed. In the end, I did feel that I’d fulfilled my promise.”
This book also won the National Book Award for Nonfiction and was among Top 10 Best Books.
