Belgium has become the first country to introduce a compulsory 21-day quarantine for monkeypox. A total 14 countries have confirmed outbreaks of the virus. The mandate requires those who have contracted the virus to self-isolate for three weeks. Belgium authorities came to this decision after just three confirmed cases in the region. Public health officials linked the three cases to Darkland, a fetish festival that recently took place in Antwerp. The WHO said it expects more cases to be reported as more data on the outbreaks come in.
