The GP Unique

You'll be hard-pressed to find a hotter hatchback than the GP Unique. It has big intakes, a curved arch and a double rear wings. These are features usually reserved for French unicorns.

Thankfully, the GP Unique doesn't just look attractive, but also feels fast. The engine is smooth and powerful and its 332lb-ft torque arrives with little fuss at speeds below 1,750rpm. It's also well matched with the quick-shifting, six-speed automatic transmission. It's a shame the GP Unique doesn't have a manual option however Mini does not mince words about its primary focus on lap times and an automatic is the best choice in this case.

It's not without flaws. The GP Unique's suspension is solid, but not engaging. When you're driving straight and smooth B road you can easily test the chassis's dynamic limits, however, it's a challenge to stay fluid with your inputs. The front end gets a little snatchy and the car is prone to slipping under the pressure of irregular British bumps.

Fortunately, the GP Unique's handling is superb when you adjust it. Its powerful front end and body control are reminiscent of the JCW race car we drove last year. On a slick surface and when you're in determined mood, it's a real joy to drive.

The car's chassis also feels distinct from the regular MT-09, thanks to the fact that it has much more torsional rigidity and larger axles. The new GP features 24.7 degrees of rake and 108mm trail, which feels much more on the front than the R6's - but it also provides amazing stability in corners.

The PO Generator module is a great feature of GP. This module lets you examine your inventory and the min/max level you've set for each item and any open POs that your suppliers have (i.e. more inventory is coming) and generates suggested purchase orders you can then send to your suppliers.

The GP 500

The GP 500 is Airoh's lightest GP helmet to date, helping to reduce neck strain and fatigue, while also increasing safety by reducing burden on shoulders. The shell is aerodynamic and features a chin-curtain sloper that improves aerodynamics as well as reducing wind buffeting. Its EQRS Quick Release System is similar to the one used on many track-focused motorbikes helmets. This allows emergency services to remove the helmet without causing any harm to the wearer's head.



Like most modern helmets, the GP500 is both Snell and SHARP certified, and has an SHARP three-star rating. While this isn't the top rating, it's a good rating considering it includes front to back and side impact protection.

In terms of image quality is concerned, I have to say I was really impressed. The GP500 can project an image as high as 4K resolution and managed to do so with outstanding clarity. According to BenQ's specifications it also has a low input lag in both Game Mode and Fast Mode.

It also showed outstanding grayscale performance, with clear and distinct shades. The GP500 also displayed subtle rainbow colors when watching the Adam Project. These were very easy to spot but they were not distracting and did not affect the viewing experience.

The sound quality is also impressive. The GP500 has an independent DSP chip with treVolo Psychoacoustic Tuning which creates 3D audio effects. It is equipped with an internal quad-speaker layout that is placed at each corner of the cabinet. This is designed to create a sound field that is immersive for all viewers, regardless of the position they are in within the room.

There are many connectivity options, including HDMI inputs 1 2, 3 and 4 and an optical Toslink SPDIF for sending native Dolby-Atmos bitstreams to a sound bar that is external. The GP500 includes two Type-A USB 2.0 ports to stream content, and it comes with a 12-volt trigger to allow an electric screen.

The GP 1000

The GP 1000 is a small, portable gas monitor that is designed to work in hazardous areas. The GP 900

Sceptics might argue that the GP is simply an existing naked XSR900 sporting a Wayne Rainey frock, but the truth is that Yamaha's designers have put their heads together to create a touching and effective tribute to the sporty heritage of the company. The GP's latest Deltabox swingarm and frame are 55mm longer but feel much more compact in corners due to the new chassis geometry. A full-spec 6-axis IMU offers a variety of electronic rider aids for the platform, and KYB suspension is upgraded with a larger front fork as well as a wider wheelbase.

The GP's fairing, which is asymmetrically designed, is a clever trick in its sleeves, including a pair of air vents located in the cowling, to lower pressure inside and help disperse heat from the engine. The GP 900 is a great machine that has a sporting heritage, but it also makes a great commuter or Sunday blaster. The 117bhp CP3 engine is extremely usable and has a range of power that is accessible at low revs. Even at speeds on the road the GP's midrange horsepower can be enough to alter your speed/time/distance calculations and completely dissect Google Maps estimated time of arrival. The GP's chassis has the right amount of stiffness - it is not as painfully rigid as an R6 nor as light and agile like a TT500. It's a lot of fun to ride and a real riot.
