The Secret of Real Living
By Billy Graham • January 2

O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee; my soul thirsteth for thee . . .
—Psalm 63:1
Some Christians have learned little of a daily devotional life. Some time ago a policeman asked me what the secret of victorious living was. I told him that there is no magic formula that can be pronounced. If any word could describe it, I would say surrender. The second word I would say would be devotion. Nothing can take the place of a daily devotional life with Christ. Your quiet time, your prayer time, the time you spend in the Word, is absolutely essential for a happy Christian life. You cannot possibly be a happy, dynamic, and powerful Christian apart from a daily walk with Christ. Christ is calling Christians today to cleansing, to dedication, to consecration, and to full surrender. It will make the difference between success and failure in your spiritual life. It will make the difference between being helped and helping others. It will make a difference in your habits, in your prayer life, in your Bible reading, in your giving, in your testimony, and in your church membership. This is the Christian hour of decision!

Prayer for the day
I long for a deeper devotional life, living Lord. May I consecrate myself completely to You. Amen.

A Card and Prayer
Bible in a Year:
Lamentations 1–2
Hebrews 10:1–18
Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed to the Lord.

Today's Scripture & Insight:

2 Kings 20:1–7
The recently widowed woman was growing concerned. To collect some vital funds from an insurance policy, she needed key information about the accident that had taken her husband’s life. She had talked to a police officer who said he’d help her, but then she lost his business card. So she prayed, pleading with God for help. A short time later, she was at her church when she walked by a window and saw a card—the policeman’s card—on a windowsill. She had no idea how it got there, but she knew why.

She took prayer seriously. And why not? Scripture says that God is listening for our requests. “The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,” Peter wrote, “and his ears are attentive to their prayer” (1 Peter 3:12).

The Bible gives us examples of how God responded to prayer. One is Hezekiah, the king of Judah, who became ill. He’d even received word from Isaiah, a prophet, saying he was going to die. The king knew what to do: he “prayed to the Lord” (2 Kings 20:2). Immediately, God told Isaiah to give the king this message from Him: “I have heard your prayer” (v. 5). Hezekiah was granted fifteen more years of life.

God doesn’t always answer prayers with things like a card on a windowsill, but He assures us that when difficult situations arise, we don’t face them alone. God sees us, and He’s with us—attentive to our prayers.

Reflect & Pray
What tops your list of concerns? How can you give them to God, asking for His guidance and help?

Father, thank You for being there and hearing my prayers. Amen.

PICK A SIDE- TINA TOON

Cartoon published 11/07/2023

Democrats are in a fix. The radical pro Hamas wing of the party is supporting Gaza, and at the same time other members of the Democrat party are supporting Israel. The Democrat party is tearing itself in two.

David Ben-Gurion, the first Prime Minister of Israel, realized that the Arabs would never make peace with Israel. After all, he acknowledged that the Arabs had their land stolen. When the state of Israel was created, the Arabs instantly attacked them. The Arab attacks against Israel have not ceased since its creation—and often Israel expanded their territory after their victories, thus making more violence inevitable.

The Palestinians might have a legitimate beef, but they make it much worse on themselves by launching vicious attacks on Israeli men, women, and children. The latest surprise attack from Hamas was particularly inhuman and heinous, but predictably they immediately began using Palestinian civilians and children as shields against the inevitable Israeli counterattack. After they attack Israel, Hamas immediately paints Israel as the aggressor and ‘occupier.’ Palestinians refused to vacate areas that Israel intended to attack. Israel gave them plenty of warnings which were ignored. Hamas showcases dead Palestinians—especially children—in order to sway world opinion to their side while demonizing Israel. It always seems to work. The world leaders pressure Israel into a cease fire. Then the attacks from Hamas happen once again, and the cycle of violence and hatred gets reinforced over and over again.

This is one of the reasons Reagan withdrew troops from the Middle East after suicide bombers attacked the US Marine barracks in Lebanon, killing 241 Americans. At the time the withdrawal was controversial, but in retrospect it was a wise move. The United States has no business meddling in the tribal disputes there—we use the word ’tribal’ because it has been proved that Palestinians and Jews share certain DNA markers.

On Monday Barack Obama pontificated on how we all share the blame. He said “Nobody’s hands are clean.” Obama’s hands are particularly dirty. He bragged about how good he was at killing people as his drones murdered countless people throughout the Middle East and in Afghanistan. For his bloody work he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.

Obama also questioned Israel’s very existence. He said “…The occupation, and what is happening to Palestinians, is unbearable.” It’s almost as if Obama would like to see Palestine defeat Israel—and in fact we know that Barack sent billions of dollars to Iran, perhaps Israel’s biggest threat. The mullahs used the money to arm their proxies, Hezbollah and Hamas. Obama’s generous nuclear deal with Iran only underlined Barack’s weakness.

All those far-lefties on American college campuses now supporting the Palestinian ‘cause’ should realize what that cause is. The Palestinians want to drive all Jews out ‘from the river to the sea.’ That means they want to murder every single Jew and completely destroy Israel. That’s also unbearable, Barry.

Many far-left radical Democrats now side with Palestine. Radical Rep. Tlaib tweets out her support for Hamas over nine times, and accuses Biden of ‘genocide.’ This has to be a big surprise and a bigger embarrassment to the open borders, ‘green’ president, Joe Biden. He’s making Jewish voters angry by funding Palestine. That money will not be used for humanitarian purposes—it will go into the pockets of Hamas.

He’s also alienating Muslim voters by giving billions of dollars more to Israel. That will cost him Muslim votes. All of this is not helping Joe’s poll numbers and that’s good because his renewed occupation of the White House would be unbearable.

We at GrrrGraphics are anti-war and unless it’s thrust directly upon the USA. Otherwise we should steer clear of foreign entanglements and tribal conflicts—especially ones that will never find an end. Ronald Reagan had the right idea. Get out and stay out. America should not be the world’s policeman.

Which Wisdom?
Bible in a Year:
Proverbs 10–12
2 Corinthians 4
Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom.

Today's Scripture & Insight:

James 3:13–18
Just before Easter 2018, a terrorist entered a market, killing two people and taking a third woman hostage. When efforts to free the woman failed, a policeman made the terrorist an offer: release the woman and take him instead.

The offer was shocking because it went against popular wisdom. You can always tell a culture’s “wisdom” by the sayings it celebrates, like the celebrity quotes that get posted on social media. “The biggest adventure you can take is to live the life of your dreams,” one popular quote reads. “Love yourself first and everything else falls into line,” says another. “Do what you have to do, for you,” states a third. Had the police officer followed such advice, he’d have put himself first and run.

The apostle James says there are two kinds of wisdom in the world: one “earthly,” another “heavenly.” The first is marked by selfish ambition and disorder (James 3:14–16); the second, by humility, submission, and peacemaking (vv. 13, 17–18). Earthly wisdom puts self first. Heavenly wisdom favors others, leading to a life of humble deeds (v. 13).

The terrorist accepted the police officer’s offer. The hostage was released, the policeman was shot, and that Easter the world witnessed an innocent man dying for someone else.

Heavenly wisdom leads to humble deeds because it places God above self (Proverbs 9:10). Which wisdom are you following today?

By: Sheridan Voysey

Reflect & Pray
What “wisdom” does the world offer? How can you best assess the wisdom you’re offered?

All-wise God, please give me the kind of wisdom that leads to humble deeds done in love. Amen.

THE PARASITES

Cartoon published 07/13/2023

The badly-dressed Zelensky looked smaller than usual while he attended the NATO summit in Vilnius. The diminutive Ukrainian leader insisted that Ukraine be admitted into NATO, but many leaders turned their backs on him. That at least was encouraging.

Zelensky’s widely-touted summer offensive has fizzled—and even Biden publicly admitted that Ukraine was almost out of ammunition. What? After pumping well over $100 billion into a country that few Americans could find on a map, they’ve already run out of ammo? What happened to all of that American taxpayer money? We know a lot of it was siphoned off by corrupt Ukrainian leaders including Zelensky himself. A lot of the munitions were sold to other countries. Ukraine has been a corrupt country for a long, long time and any American cluster bombs sent to that country will make both Zelensky and Biden war criminals.

Now that Zelensky knows he can’t win with his current setup, he is anxious to drag the Western world into World War III. Zelensky is an evil man who should never have been elevated to power. He should have remained a comedian—one who played pianos with his penis. If only Zelensky hadn’t been installed by globalist powers. If only he hadn’t shelled the Donbas region, which is largely populated by Russians. If only he went to the peace table when he had the chance. Zelensky wants nuclear war if necessary to keep himself in power.

The world should wake up and realize that Zelensky and his war aren’t necessary. In fact, NATO itself is no longer necessary. It has been corrupted into a war machine by the globalist powers that control too many of its member countries. At least Trump wanted the leach-like NATO to pay its fair share, but what America really needs to do is withdraw from NATO entirely. While we’re at it, let’s also break up the corrupt Federal Reserve, the FBI, and the CIA.

Our Founding Fathers warned us about avoiding foreign entanglements. It’s time to let Europe take care of itself. The United States should have kept out of World War I. If we had done so, WWII would have been avoided. It’s time for America to give up the idea of being a globalist empire. We are not the world’s policeman. We should not be the tool being cynically used to conquer the world for the WEF and the globalist bankers. It’s time to stop feeding the military-industrial complex. It’s time to tune out the insane uni-party warmongers who are constantly crying out for the escalation of the Ukraine war, which could lead to an outright nuclear war. The fear-mongering globalists constantly push their climate change bunk upon us, but a nuclear exchange would be far more disastrous than changing weather. Yet, the warmongers aren’t afraid of nuclear war. Why?

The United States and its military Parasites

The United States has no intrinsic interest in Ukraine, but those at the top have been using it to launder money. Ukraine enables kickbacks to our corrupt politicians and their family members. It’s time to denounce the lunatics who want to see Ukraine converted into a militarized, ‘woke’ springboard that the globalists want to use to take down Russia.

What can we do? Refuse to agree with those who are pro-war. Don’t get swayed by their claptrap pronouncements such as, ‘We must fight the war over there before it comes here.’ Denounce the warmongers. Loudly boo Mike Pence, Mitt Romney, Lindsey Graham, Nancy Pelosi, and their ilk whenever they make public appearances. Stop watching the mainstream propaganda media when they loudly bang on their war drums.

If we want to take a firm stand against war, then we need to stop slouching toward supporting war.
