Nazareth! Can anything good come from there?

John 1:43–51
“You’re not what I expected. I thought I’d hate you, but I don’t.” The young man’s words seemed harsh, but they were actually an effort to be kind. I was studying abroad in his country, a land that decades earlier had been at war with my own. We were participating in a group discussion in class together, and I noticed he seemed distant. When I asked if I’d offended him somehow, he responded, “Not at all . . . . And that’s the thing. My grandfather was killed in that war, and I hated your people and your country for it. But now I see how much we have in common, and that surprises me. I don’t see why we can’t be friends.”
Prejudice is as old as the human race. Two millennia ago, when Nathanael first heard about Jesus living in Nazareth, his bias was evident: “Nazareth! Can anything good come from there?” he asked (John 1:46). Nathanael lived in the region of Galilee, like Jesus. He probably thought God’s Messiah would come from another place; even other Galileans looked down on Nazareth because it seemed to be an unremarkable little village.
This much is clear. Nathanael’s response didn’t stop Jesus from loving him, and he was transformed as he became Jesus’ disciple. “You are the Son of God!” Nathanael later declared (v. 49). There is no bias that can stand against God’s transforming love.

Former leader and founding member of Hamas, Khalid Mashal, gave a speech today urging Muslims all around the world to take part in a” Global Day of Jihad,” this Friday, October 13th.
Mashal called it “the Friday of Al-Aqsa flood”, and asked Muslims to display their anger. He stated it will send a message of rage to Zionists and to America. He also asked for financial help from all Muslims around the world; calling it, “Financial Jihad”. He called for political pressure from Muslim leaders and Muslim nations. Perhaps the most concerning thing he asked for, is for all Muslims around the world to carry Jihad by their souls and to fight and be martyrs for Al-Aqsa. To go to the borders and try to enter, each by his own means. He said, “This is the time for Jihad to be applied on the ground rather than just in theory.” He asked the Mujahedeen to go in long caravans to spell their blood on the land of Palestine. His speech ended with, ”Funds are important but today we are asking for your blood and souls.”
“First: We declare next Friday, ‘The Friday of the Al-Aqsa Flood,’ as a day of general mobilization in our Arab and Islamic world and among the free people of the world. It is a day to rally support, offer aid, and participate actively. It is a day to expose the crimes of the occupation, isolate it, and foil all its aggressive schemes. It is a day to demonstrate our love for Palestine, Jerusalem, and Al-Aqsa. It is a day for sacrifice, heroism, and dedication, and to earn the honor of defending the first Qibla of Muslims, the third holiest mosque, and the ascension of the trusted Messenger. Second: We call upon our rebellious youth throughout the West Bank, in its cities, villages, and uprising camps, in the streets and neighborhoods of Jerusalem, and at the squares of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, to rise up, join massive demonstrations, and shake the ground beneath the feet of the Zionist invaders and their settler gangs. Engage with their soldiers and cowardly army in every place, affirming the unity of destiny and the path towards Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa, liberating them from the defilement of the Zionist occupation. “Third: Our people within the occupied territories of 1948, people of honor and courage, who have borne much to preserve their Palestinian-Arab identity. This day is your day to mobilize, assemble, and stand united in guarding the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque. Preserve it, its Islamic heritage, its divine message, and prevent settler gangs from desecrating it. Thwart the fascist occupation’s plans to divide it, Judaize it, and build their alleged temple. Unite with your people in Gaza and the West Bank. JON TESTER FAILS THE TEST

Election season is rolling back around and once again we Montanans are being peppered with commercials pushing Democrat Jon Tester for Senate everywhere we look.
Tester has his campaign strategy down to a ’t’. He looks like a poor country farmer and he attacks the millionaire class, yet he himself is a multimillionaire. He spends most of his time in a fancy mansion in Washington D.C. where you can bet he doesn’t wear overalls.

Of course, the Democrats would dearly love to see their comrade get reelected. Their Senate majority hangs by a thread. Montana’s other Senator is Steve Daines, a Republican. It’s natural for Montana to have Republican Senators. After all, ‘The Treasure State’ is a red state.
Yet Jon is good at raking in votes because he presents himself as a dyed-in-the-wool Montana. He’a farmer and rancher and he can be seen in his commercials riding on tractors or driving well-worn trucks. He shows hunters and fly fisherman in his ads. Tester, who misses three fingers on his left hand, claims to represent “Montana values.”

Yet when he gets to Washington D.C. he aligns himself more with the policies of Hillary Clinton and George Soros. Both of them help fund his campaigns—especially Hillary. You might even say she bought his loyalty. Tester has voted with Biden’s position 91 percent of the time so far during his presidency.
Tester, like most Democrats, approves of abortion, Obama Care, and open borders. He voted to put radicals on the Supreme Court, and he voted against Trump’s conservative appointees. To his credit, Tester wanted to repeal the unpatriotic “Patriotic Act” and he favored the Keystone Pipeline.
Still, Montana can do better than Tester because Jon Tester Fails The Test.
