The Crown of Lovingkindness – Journaling Prayer by LaWanda

LaWanda – O Jesus, my Jesus, thank you for your blood that was shed for me, that covers me and protects me. Thank you, Jesus, that you took the punishment for our sin on your body, Lord. O, how you must love us. Thank you, Jesus, my precious, precious, Lord.
________________________________________
I see you today, Lord, standing behind me. I am seated, thanking you, Lord for all you have done and will do. O Jesus, thank you that your lovingkindness never fails, that you will not allow it to fail. Your hands are so warm on my shoulders, Lord. It takes knowing you are with me to a whole different level as I feel your presence with every pulse of your heart. With every beat of your heart, your love flows into me. You move your hands and pick something up. I look back and see that it is a crown. It is the crown of lovingkindness and it is beautiful. I feel it as you place it on my head. How can it fit so perfectly, Lord? Like it is supposed to be there. Your left hand remains on my shoulder but the right hand is raised to the Father as you begin to bless me. With my whole heart I thank you, Lord. I bow my heart in awe and wonder as I hear you speak over me.

Jesus – LaWanda, My dear one, My precious, precious one. Hear Me now!
I am He who forgives all your iniquities.
I am He who heals all your diseases.
I am He who redeems your life from destruction.
I am He who satisfies your mouth with good things and renews your strength like the eagle’s.
I am He who crowns you with My lovingkindness.
Even now, receive My redemption.
Receive My forgiveness.
Receive My healing.

Receive My lovingkindness and all it entails: My goodness, My mercy, My grace, My faithfulness and My steadfast love and My devotion to you.

And remember, dear one, that all means ALL. ALL iniquities means ALL iniquities. ALL diseases means ALL diseases. Receive these My tender mercies, even now, dear one. And bless the One who has given them to you. Bless Me and forget not what I have done for you this day.

This crown is not something that you will remove, LaWanda. Wear it continually and as you interact with those around you, ask me… "Which part of Your lovingkindness do they need today, Lord?" And as you have freely received, so then freely give. I will bless and multiply each of these offerings given to me in this way. When you give mercy, you will receive mercy. When you give grace, you will receive grace. You will be blessed; they will be blessed and I will be honored.
One day you will lay this crown at My feet, dear one. But in the meantime, wear it and use it to glorify Me. My lovingkindness will never run out. Nor will the blessings that flow from you giving it away.

“Bless the Lord, O my soul, all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from destruction, who crown you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, who satisfies your mouth with good things, so that your strength is renewed like the eagle’s.” Psalm 103: 1-5

“Nevertheless, My lovingkindness I will not utterly take from him, nor allow My faithfulness to fail. My covenant I will not break, nor alter the word that has gone out of My lips.” Psalm 89:33-34

A Heart for Christ
Bible in a Year :
Numbers 28−30
Mark 8:22−38
Out of the heart come evil thoughts . . . these are what defile a person.

Today's Scripture & Insight :

Matthew 15:7−20
As long as you keep your mouth closed, I told myself, you won’t be doing anything wrong. I’d been outwardly holding back my anger toward a colleague after misinterpreting things she’d said. Since we had to see each other every day, I decided to limit communication to only what was necessary (and retaliate with my silent treatment). How could a quiet demeanor be wrong?

Jesus said that sin begins in the heart (Matthew 15:18−20). My silence may have fooled people into thinking all was well, but it wasn’t fooling God. He knew I was hiding a heart filled with anger. I was like the Pharisees who honored God with their lips, but their hearts were far from Him (v. 8). Even though my outward appearance didn’t show my true feelings, the bitterness was festering inside me. The joy and closeness I’d always felt with my heavenly Father were gone. Nurturing and hiding sin does that.

By God’s grace, I told my colleague how I was feeling and apologized. She graciously forgave me and, eventually, we became good friends. “Out of the heart come evil thoughts” (v. 19), Jesus says. The state of our heart matters because evil residing there can overflow into our lives. Both our exterior and interior matter.

Reflect & Pray
Jesus said that the sin in our heart defiles us. What “evil thoughts” might be defiling your heart? How can you pray regarding this matter?

Loving God, please forgive me for the sins I’ve been nurturing in my heart. I want my heart to be pleasing in Your sight. Please help me to change. Amen.

Sacrifice of Praise
MARCH 1, 2024

I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
Psalm 34:1

Recommended Reading: Psalm 34:1-3
In Romans 12:1, the apostle Paul exhorted his readers to present themselves as “a living sacrifice” to God. But someone has observed that living sacrifices keep trying to crawl off the altar! At no time is that more likely to happen than during times of trouble when we are tempted to resent our circumstances.

But David, the psalmist, wrote that God’s praise “shall continually be in my mouth”—words he wrote during a time of trouble. And the writer to the Hebrews combined the ideas of sacrifice and continual praise: “Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name” (Hebrews 13:15). Why is praise considered a sacrifice, especially in times of trouble? First, sacrifice involves giving up something. Second, the sacrifice of praise in times of trouble means giving up fear, resentment, anger, and self-centeredness (“Why me, Lord?”). To praise God means to trust His plans and provision and protection at all times—“continually.”

If you are in a challenging season of life, purposefully choose to praise God sacrificially for what He is doing in your life.

Praise is the best of all sacrifices and the true evidence of godliness.
John Calvin
