This study aims to investigate the electrocardiogram characteristics of the different motor types of Parkinson's disease.

The data on 118 patients with Parkinson's disease (PD), who were initially diagnosed in the Outpatient and Inpatient Department, was collected. Among these 118 PD patients, 74 patients were assigned to the PIGD group, while 44 patients were assigned to the TD group, and their clinical features were analyzed, which included age, course, disease classification, and electrocardiogram parameters (PR, QRS, QT interval, and QTC).

The QT interval in PD patients was positively correlated with the course of the disease and Hoehn-Yahr stage, and the QT interval in the PIGD group was longer than that in the TD group.

The aim of the present study was to investigate the influence of kinase insert domain containing receptor (KDR) genetic variation on the efficacy of treatment and safety of patients with chemotherapy-refractory metastatic colorectal cancer (CRC) receiving apatinib.

A total of 108 patients with chemotherapy refractory metastatic CRC who were treated with apatinib participated in this study retrospectively. Efficacy of the patients' treatment was evaluated. Prognosis was carried out and safety profile was documented, respectively. Blood specimens and peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) of the patients were obtained for the analysis of genetic variation and KDR gene mRNA expression, respectively. The association between genotype status and clinical outcomes was presented.

Objective response rate (ORR) and disease control rate (DCR) of the 108 patients with metastatic CRC receiving apatinib treatment were 5.6% and 69.4%, respectively. This study aimed to investigate the effects of the Sn100 kVp tube voltage mode on the image quality and radiation dose of computed tomography pulmonary angiography (CTPA).

A total of 145 patients who underwent CTPA were randomly divided into five groups control group (120 kVp, 150 mAs), test group A (Sn100 kVp, 270 mAs), test group B (120 kVp, 30 mAs), test group C (70 kVp, 150 mAs), and test group D (80 kVp, 70 mAs). After image post-processing, the image quality and radiation dose of each group were analyzed.

The computed tomography values of images in the four test groups were more than 250 HU, which met the criteria for diagnosis. The signal-to-noise ratio and contrast-to-noise ratio of the images in the four test groups were lower than those in the control group. The radiation dose in each test group was lower than in the control group. The radiation dose was lowest in test group A.

To mitigate and prevent hypertension-related complications, self-care behavior adaptation has proven to be vital. In this study, we examined the six clinically prescribed levels of self-care as prescribed by the Seventh Report of the Joint National Committee on Prevention, Detection, Evaluation and Treatment of High Blood Pressure and its predictors among a select sample of hypertensive individuals in Karachi, Pakistan.

The morbidity of pneumothorax after CT-guided TTNB depends on several factors, including size and depth of lesions, emphysema, the number of pleural surfaces and fissure crossed, etc. Attention to biopsy planning and technique and post-biopsy precautions help to prevent or minimize potential complications. Many measures can be taken to help prevent the progression of a pneumothorax, which in turn might reduce the number of pneumothoraces requiring chest tube placement. A multitude of therapeutic options is available for the treatment of pneumothorax, varying from observation and oxygen treatment, simple manual aspiration, to chest tube placement.

The liver-resident immune cells (LrICs) determine the immune properties, but the unique composition and heterogeneity of these cells are incompletely understood. Here, we dissect the diversity of LrICs by a comprehensive transcriptomic profiling using the unbiased single-cell RNA-sequencing (scRNA-seq). We found that G2 DNA damage suppressed SENP3 phosphorylation at G2/M phases in p53-dependent manner. We further found that the suppression of SENP3 phosphorylation was crucial for efficient DNA damage/p53-induced G2 checkpoint and G2 arrest. Mechanistically, we identified Cdh1, a subunit of APC/C complex, was a SUMOylated protein at G2/M phase. SENP3 could de-SUMOylate Cdh1. DNA damage/p53-induced suppression of SENP3 phosphorylation activated SENP3 de-SUMOylation of Cdh. Ischemia-reperfusion injury (IRI) is closely associated the abnormal expression of long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs), especially for their regulatory roles in IRI-related angiogenesis. This study applied a hypoxia-reoxygenation (HR) cell model to simulate the IRI condition, as well as RNA sequencing and RNA pull-down experiments to reveal roles of the lncRNA and Stem Cell Inhibitory RNA Transcript (SCIRT), in endothelial angiogenesis. We found that SCIRT was increased under the HR condition and exhibited a high expression correlation with angiogenesis marker VEGFA. RNA-seq data analysis further revealed that VEGFA-related angiogenesis was regulated by SCIRT in HUVECs. Gain and loss of function experiments proved that SCIRT posttranscriptionally regulated VEGFA via affecting its mRNA stability. Furthermore, HuR (ELAVL1), an RNA binding protein (RBP), was identified as a SCIRT-binding partner, which bound and stabilized VEGFA. Moreover, SCIRT promoted HuR expression posttranslationally by inhibiting its ubiquitination under the HR condition. These findings reveal that lncRNA SCIRT can mediate endothelial angiogenesis by stabilizing the VEGFA mRNA via modulating RBP HuR stability under the HR condition.Gallbladder cancer (GBC) is the most common type of biliary tract cancer. The GBC is often diagnosed at an advanced stage, which limits surgical intervention due to its aggressive nature, and as a consequence of its insensitivity to chemotherapy, more effective treatments are required. In GBC, the efficacy of chemotherapy combined with anti-PD-L1/VEGF inhibition remains to be clarified. The present case report describes successful treatment by toripalimab in combination with bevacizumab and gemcitabine in a patient with metastatic GBC and PD-L1 combined positive score (CPS) =30. After six courses of therapy, a partial response was observed in the patient's clinical condition. So far, her PFS has exceeded 15 months. To the best of our knowledge, there was no other case where toripalimab plus bevacizumab were used in combination with gemcitabine as an effective treatment strategy for GBC. The remarkable response is likely to be related to the positive expression of PD-L1. Further, VEGF inhibition in combination with chemotherapy may result in improved clinical outcomes due to increased antitumor immunity. Chemotherapy regimens combined with anti-PD-L1/VEGF inhibition are promising therapies for GBC. Further well-designed prospective clinical trials are needed in order to confirm the efficacy and safety of the three-drug regimen.Pembrolizumab is an immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI) that targets programmed death-1. Although ICIs have shown efficacy in the treatment of lung cancer, they have also been reported to cause a variety of immune-related adverse events (irAEs). Hepatotoxicity is a known irAEs, but currently, there is not enough information on its pathological characteristics and treatment. We report the case of a 70-year-old man with advanced squamous-cell lung cancer who developed severe grade 4 hepatitis on day 8 after receiving carboplatin, nab-paclitaxel, and pembrolizumab as fourth-line therapy. We treated him with steroid therapy the day after a liver biopsy was performed to investigate his pathological features, which led to a rapid and remarkable improvement. Confirmation of immune-related hepatotoxicity by pathological findings allowed the early tapering and discontinuation of steroid therapy. The aim of this study was to evaluate treatment responses, toxicity, and survival among cHL patients aged ≥50 years.

We retrospectively identified all newly diagnosed cHL patients and only included cases who were ≥50 years old at the time of diagnosis and with data available between 1999 and 2020.

There were 101 patients, of which 52 were between 50 and 59 years of age, and 49 patients were ≥60 years old. Sixty-two patients were male, and the most common histopathological subtype was mixed cellularity cHL (58.4%). ECOG PS, CCI, CIRS, and ACE-27 scores were significantly higher in patients aged ≥60 years than those of 50-59 age group. While all patients aged 50-59 years received ABVD as first-line therapy, 79% (n=39) of cases aged ≥60 years had ABVD. In patients receiving ABVD, 95% and 92.7% of the cases aged 50-59 and ≥60 years had CR, respectively (
=0.999). Age groups were comparable in terms of hematological and non-hematological toxicities (
=0.369,
=0.127, respectively). Although not statisticare generally excluded in most of the clinical trials. Thus, this real-life single-center experience would contribute to the literature.

Lung cancer (LC) is the leading type of cancer worldwide, yet it's challenging to detect early LC. Therefore, it is valuable to explore diagnostic biomarker that can distinguish malignant pulmonary lesions from benign diseases. The potential role of plate factor-4 variant (CXCL4L1) will be investigated in detecting early LC.

A consecutive of 174 patients with single pulmonary nodule and 50 healthy controls were enrolled. Serum CXCL4L1 expression level was evaluated using ELISA. Survival curves were generated to analyze survival outcomes. Receiver operating characteristic curves were used to calculate diagnostic accuracy.

Serum CXCL4L1 was downregulated in patients with LC when compared with those with lung benign lesions (LBL) or healthy controls. Meanwhile, lower serum CXCL4L1 expression was associated with advanced TNM stage and lymph node metastasis. Furthermore, a low expression of CXCL4L1 resulted in worse survival outcomes in LC patients. Serum CXCL4L1 expression obtained an area under curve (AUC) of 0.81 (95% CI 0.74-0.88), a sensitivity of 70.6%, and a specificity of 85.8% for discriminating patients with LC form patients with LBL. In addition, serum CXCL4L1 expression achieved an AUC of 0.82 (95% CI, 0.74-0.90), a sensitivity of 72.0%, and a specificity of 85.9% for distinguishing patients with LC form healthy controls.

This study suggests that CXCL4L1 may prove to be a potential non-invasive diagnostic and prognostic biomarker for early LC patients.

We report the real-world distribution of glaucoma types and glaucoma surgeries in each age or sex group in our department.

The department database of Matsue Red Cross Hospital, a tertiary care hospital, for eyes surgically treated to manage glaucoma between April 2014 and March 2018 was searched. Patient age, sex, disease type, and surgical procedure were collected from the database. The age was stratified by ≤64 years (young), 65-74 years (pre-old), 75-89 years (old), and ≥90 years (oldest-old or super-old).

In the database, 2036 consecutive surgeries (70.3 ± 14.4 years; 1015 males) were identified. Among all subjects, primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG) (42.7%) was the most frequent identifiable glaucoma type followed by primary angle-closure disease (PACD) (18.8%) and exfoliation glaucoma (17.9%). The glaucoma types differed significantly among the age groups (
< 0.0001); POAG was the most frequent type of glaucoma in young and pre-old groups, while PACD and exfoliation glaucoma were the most fren the old and oldest-old age groups.
The types of glaucoma and required glaucoma surgeries differ among the different age groups and sexes. Primary angle-closure disease and exfoliation glaucoma are the major glaucoma types in the old and oldest-old age groups.
To provide consensus-based current guidelines on optimal dosimetry and patient selection for MicroPulse Transscleral Laser Therapy (TLT) based on a review of the literature and a Delphi method.

A comprehensive search of Pub Med led to the identification and analysis of 61 studies on MicroPulse TLT that contained information on laser settings and patient selection. To determine consensus in areas where there was not enough available literature, a three-round Delphi method was conducted.

The response rate was 90% in the first round, 90% in the second round, and 80% in the third round of the Delphi technique. Once all responses were aggregated, a live meeting was held with 80% attendance, and consensus was achieved on each of the findings detailed in this manuscript.

Micropulse TLT is a useful addition to the glaucoma armamentarium. When used with proper surgical technique at energy settings within the boundaries described in this manuscript, MicroPulse TLT is a safe and effective treatment for many type each per hemisphere. Both hemispheres avoiding the 3 and 9 clock hours should be treated. The panel also reached consensus on patient selection for MicroPulse TLT providing guidance for the use of the procedure.

Retrospectively reviewed the medical records of patients younger than 10 years of age who had been diagnosed with CNLDO, from January 1st, 2011, to October 31st, 2021. Patients were divided into two groups. The conservative treatment group comprised patients who had received Crigler's maneuver and topical antibiotic when indicated; the intervention group comprised patients who had received probing.

There were 469 patients in the conservative treatment group and 108 patients in the probing group. In the conservative treatment group; the patients were categorized into five groups according to age 0 to <6 months, 6 to <12 months, 12 to <18 months, 18 to <24 months, and ≥24 months.
