Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) will make all surveillance footage of the Jan. 6 Capitol riot available for the public to access online over the next couple months. The tapes will be posted on a public website and contain more than 44,000 hours of security footage taken during the Jan. 6 riot. As information continues to be revealed about the day mainly through the release of security footage and personal videos, doubt is being shed on whether this protest which began as peaceful was instigated to become violent. Reps. Jamaal Bowman (D-N.Y.) and Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) had an intense exchange in the hallways of the Capitol building Wednesday evening, two days after the deadly shooting in Nashville, Tennessee.

The confrontation began when Bowman, a former teacher and middle school principal, went on a heated diatribe. “They’re cowards! They’re all cowards! They won’t do anything to save the lives of our children at all!” Bowman shouted, referring to GOP lawmakers.

Massie later told Bowman, “You know, there’s never been a school shooting in a school that allows teachers to carry.”

“Carry guns? You think — more guns lead to more death! More guns lead to more death,” Bowman responded. “You’re not looking at any data! You’re carrying the water for the gun lobby! Look at the data! More guns lead to more deaths! States that have open carry laws have more deaths! States that have open carry laws have more deaths!”

Oklahoma Governor, Kevin Stitt, said this week in reference to a bill that would limit childhood gender, affirming mutilations, "We must protect our most vulnerable, our children... minors can’t vote, can’t purchase alcohol, can’t purchase cigarettes. We shouldn’t allow a minor to get a permanent gender-altering surgery in Oklahoma."

"That’s why I am calling on the legislature to send me a bill that bans all gender-transition surgeries and hormone therapies on minors in the state."

His statement were met with hundreds of "Trans Lives Matter" protesters gathered at the Oklahoma state Capitol to protest against the legislation.

The protestors can be heard chanting, "this is our house," and "protect trans kids," and holding signs that read, "Protect trans rights" and "My body, my freedom."
