Maine Secretary of State Discussed “Election Sabotage” and the ACLU,

The Federal District Court for the Northern District of Georgia unsealed the 96-page Halderman Report in June 2023, which was a Security Analysis of Georgia’s ImageCast X Ballot Marking Devices.
University of Michigan Professor of Computer Science and Engineering J. Halderman and Security Researcher and Assistant Professor at Auburn University Drew Sringall collaborated on this report and says he discovered many exploitable vulnerabilities in the Dominion Voting Systems’ ImageCast X system.
Judge Amy Totenberg had sealed and concealed the results of this investigation on Dominion voting machines in Georgia, but it was eventually released last summer after being hidden from the public for two years by then-Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger.
The report states that votes can be altered in these Dominion voting machines, as their software is vulnerable to hacking.
The information contained within the Halderman Report was available to all as of June 2023.
Professor Halderman wrote about his findings in a blog post after the report’s release.
Back in September 2020, the Courtgranted the Curling Plaintiffs access to one of Georgia’s touchscreen ballot marking devices (BMDs) so that they could assess its security. Drew and I extensively tested the machine, andwe discovered vulnerabilities in nearly every part of the systemthat is exposed to potential attackers.The most critical problem we found is an arbitrary-code-execution vulnerability that can be exploited to spread malware from a county’s central election management system (EMS) to every BMD in the jurisdiction.This makes it possible to attack the BMDs at scale, over a wide area, without needing physical access to any of them.
Our report explains how attackers could exploit the flaws we found to change votes or potentially even affect election outcomes in Georgia, including how they could defeat the technical and procedural protections the state has in place. While we are not aware of any evidence that the vulnerabilities have been exploited to change votes in past elections, without more precautions and mitigations, there is a serious risk that they will be exploited in the future.
Professor Halderman also tweeted out that Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger will not install Dominion’s security patches before the 2024 election.

They Know It Was Unconstitutional: Turley On Trump’s Gag Order Ruling

George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley made a shocking revelation following news that a federal appeals court put former President Donald Trump’s gag order on hold.

A federal appeals court, on Friday, temporarily paused Judge Tanya Chutkan’s gag order on President Trump to allow the court more time to consider Trump’s request for a longer freeze on the gag order.

“The purpose of this administrative stay is to give the court sufficient opportunity to consider the emergency motion for a stay pending appeal and should not be construed in any way as a ruling on the merits of that motion,” the appeals court wrote in its order.

Turley, however, believes that the appeals court issued the temporary stay on the gag order because it was unconstitutional to begin with. Turley, while speaking during an interview with Fox News host Laura Ingraham, suggested that the higher court would have left the gag order in place while it reviewed Trump’s request if it thought the gag order was constitutional.
“They could have left it to continue, to continue while they reviewed it, but, they decided, perhaps in an abundance of caution to order this stoppage until they can give it a full review,” Turley said. “The reason I think this could be quite significant is because I think the order is unconstitutional. I said that when it was first issued. It’s a very odd concept of an order because the court here insisted on having this trial before the election, sort of shoehorned it in before Super Tuesday .And everyone in this election is going to be talking about these cases, except one person under this gag order. He can’t criticize the prosecutors, he can’t criticize witnesses, and special counsel Jack Smith just asked for this order to be expanded in an equally unconstitutional way. That has drawn the criticism even of the ACLU, which is a staunch critic of Donald Trump, but the ACLU has said look, this is flagrantly unconstitutional…. Usually when you have these gag orders, it’s to protect a jury pool so that they’re not influenced by all of the publicity that might be generated. Well, you know, that ship has sailed,” Turley said. “You just ordered a major trial before an election and so the question for the court of appeals is, what is the real purpose of this?”

ACLU Scolds Federal Judge Over Trump Gag Order

(StraightNews.org) – The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has spoken out in defense of Donald Trump, saying the gag order recently imposed by the courts is an infringement of the former President’s First Amendment rights. The organization, often a leading light for the progressive wing of politics and an opponent of Donald Trump, has a history of defending the speech rights of those it disagrees with and has previously supported the freedoms of neo-Nazis and the Ku Klux Klan.

Anthony D Romero, executive director of the ACLU, made his dislike of Trump clear and said no other President had damaged civil liberties as much as he had, but “if we allow his free speech rights to be abridged, we know that other unpopular voices will also be silenced.”

Romero argues that the gagging order placed on Trump by US District Judge Tanya S Chutkan is “too broad and too vague” and could prevent Mr. Trump from speaking against his political opponents or criticizing the decisions of judges – both of which are guaranteed under the US Constitution.
