Recent accounts of Chinese maps showing no trace of the nation of Israel have become a growing concern. China is known historically for having a particular interest in meticulous map bordering. Is this China's open expression of a desire to erase Israel?

Since Hamas' attack on Israel's border at the beginning of October, the world has been growing increasingly divided. The U.S. government has expressed strong support for Israel. While Kim Jong Un recently put forth an attempt to dabble in international democracy by mobilizing support for Palestine, China, which has significant ties to Iran through BRICS, has long been a supporter of an independent Palestine while also maintaining a warm relationship with Israel.

What could China have to gain by erasing Israel, particularly after stepping up to play a global negotiator and peacemaker? Is this role China has self-imposed merely superficial? Or is this an attempt to end the era of American unilateralism?
