His Righteousness Is More Than a Robe – Journaling Prayer by LaWanda

LaWanda – O Jesus, precious Lord. I come to you today wanting nothing, save your presence. O precious Lord, I need nothing else. Thank you that because of the Cross, we can come boldly before you, before your throne of Grace. Thank you precious Lord, that we can always find mercy here in our time of need. Thank you, Lord, thank you.

I see you today, Lord, while we are worshiping you. I am on my face before you, Lord. As I read your word, and your presence comes alive, who you are overwhelms me and standing just will not do. I know the way you see me Lord, but sometimes I just can’t see myself as you do. Somehow it seems as though your robe of righteousness has fallen off of me, revealing my old self. And I feel so unworthy to be in your presence. O Jesus, precious Lord, help me to see myself once again as you do. Help me to know that the robe of righteousness you have given me is FOREVER mine. Thank you, Jesus, that keeping it never depends on me. It always depends on what you did on the Cross. I thank you and I praise you, my Lord, my Savior, my King.

Jesus – LaWanda, my dear one, my precious, precious one. My word is true in its entirety, and I have clothed you with the garments of salvation and covered you with My robe of righteousness. I have said so. But My righteousness, dear one, is more than a robe that you wear. It is who you ARE. I became sin on the cross that you might, by accepting me, become the righteousness of God in ME. You ARE My righteousness, LaWanda. Even now the enemy knows where your wounds are. He will try to use them against you, hoping that he can convince you that who you used to be is who you REALLY are. He is hoping that this time you will accept what he is saying as true and take the detour he is offering. But what he cannot “get” is that I have stolen your heart. And while you may have glimpses of who you used to be, you KNOW in the depths of you that this is not who you ARE. It cannot be. For that to be true, you would have to believe that I am a liar. And this you cannot do, for you have experienced My TRUTH. And you know that all you must do when you see that old self is to cry out to me. And in Me you will see the absolute TRUTH of who you are. There will be no more detours, dear one. A pause, perhaps, when you blink and cry out to Me, but NO MORE DETOURS. I have called you by your name and you are mine!
