Rockefeller founded the Standard Oil Company, which dominated the oil industry and was the first great U.S. business trust. Later in life he turned his attention to charity. He made possible the founding of the University of Chicago and endowed major philanthropic institutions.
The Rockefeller family was worth $550 billion in the 1970s (more than 7 trillion in today’s money). They owned/controlled 50,000 banking branches and had controlling interests in 1,500 banks worldwide. Read The Rockefeller File by Gary Allen - for one. They were billionaires in the 1920s.
They are part of a group of above super rich that never appear in the media or the “richest” lists.
The Queen of England, the largest owner of real estate in the world - by far - is an example. According to “official” records she is worth a mere $600 million. By comparison, famous Texas oil tycoon T. Boone Pickens bought ONE piece of “Crown Land” in Alberta, Canada (i.e., that she owned) and sold it later for $550 million. Queen Elizabeth owns 6.6 BILLION acres of real estate. Including all of England and related countries, Australia, Canada, etc. And yet she is never listed as one of the world’s richest persons.
Like the Rockefellers. Or the Rothschilds worth more than $2 trillion. Vladimir Putin estimated at $200 billion. Or the house of Saud (who “own” Saudi Arabia) at more than $1.4 trillion.
Bottom line: If you see someone’s name on a “world’s richest” list they are second tier. The top tier is never seen or heard - they are powerful enough to avoid scrutiny.
This is the tier that runs the world.

Since changing its strategy, the Rockefeller Brothers Fund has cut its endowment’s exposure to fossil fuel companies from about 7 percent in 2014 to less than 1 percent of its holdings today. It had ramped up investments consistent with the fund’s mission — including renewable energy in Africa, workforce housing in the United States, services for the poor in India and Latin America, and pollution control in Europe — to $178.2 million by March.
